Obituary: Mrs. Michele Lynn Henson, age 48, of Marietta, GA passed away on 7, 2014 following a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Henson was born on 30, 1966 in Jamestown, New York, the daughter of Patricia Pangborn Button and the late Ellis F. Button. She attended Piedmont Church of Marietta and prior to ill health, was employed with Wellstar OB/GYN for 13 years. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father, Ellis F. Button, Sr. and by her brother, Ellis F. Button, Jr. She was married on 26, 1987 to Mike Henson. Survivors include her devoted husband, Mike Henson. Two daughters, Lindsay (David) Henson Leith and Lauren Henson. Her mother, Mrs. Patricia Warner. One granddaughter, Aubree Henson. services for Mrs. Henson will be on 14, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Piedmont Church of Marietta with Dr. Dwight Ike Reighard officiating. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on 13, 2014 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Winkenhofer . On 14, Mrs. Henson will be carried to the Piedmont Church to lie-in-state from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. Obituary: Kenneth Marshall Henson, age 90, of Sea Island, Georgia, died on 6, 2016. He was born in Athens, Georgia, on 8, 1925, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Carlton Monroe Henson. graduating in 1942 from Athens High School, he entered the University of Georgia and shortly thereafter enlisted in the Navy. Following his discharge from the Navy, he returned to the University of Georgia and at age 19 received his B.S. degree in mathematics in 1945. While at the University he served as President of Phi Kappa Literary Society, was a member of the Debate Team, President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, a member of the Inter-fraternity Council, Gridiron, Blue Key Honor Society, and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society. He earned his Law Degree from the University of Georgia Law School in 1947 and was admitted at the age of 21 to the Georgia Bar.Mr. Henson engaged in the private practice of law from 1950 until 1988 in Columbus Georgia. In the 1970s he served as General Counsel of AFLAC during which time the company was listed on the New York Stock Exchange and received its license to do business in Japan. He was a member of the Columbus Lawyers Club and during his tenure as president, House Bill Number 557 was passed, establishing and funding a public law library in Muscogee . He also served as a member and president of The Younger Lawyers Section of the Georgia Bar Association.Kenneth was an active alumnus of the University of Georgia School Of Law and served as President of the Law School Association 1972-73 and Chairman of the Board of Visitors in 1976. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Scroll Award in 1978. While serving as Chairman of the Law School Association, his efforts enabled the law school to have a separate endowment within the UGA Foundation. In Columbus, Kenneth was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and served as Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. In 1969 he was Chairman of a city-wide Billy Graham-Leighton Ford Crusade and in 1971, was instrumental in starting the Mayors Prayer Breakfast. leaving Columbus, Kenneth was a founding member of Wesley United Methodist Church at Frederica on St. Simons Island where he attended and taught school for many years. He was a founding member of the Sea Island Ocean Forest Golf Club where he played for many years. Kenneth was an avid bridge player at the Golden Isles Duplicate Bridge Club where he achieved the status of Life Master in 2010. He will always be remembered for the passion he displayed in all aspects of his life. Kenneth was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, dedicated lawyer, golf enthusiast, determined bridge player, and most importantly, a humble and faithful servant of God. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sue Boykin Henson, and his children Kenneth Marshall Henson, Jr. (Chris) of Columbus, Georgia; Carlton Monroe Henson II (Inken) of Tallahassee, Florida; and Susie Henson Millsap (Temple) of Montgomery, Alabama. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren: Catherine Henson Curlet (Alex); Susie Henson Marshall (Taylor); Laura Henson Strickler (Matthew); Eugene Temple Millsap, IV (Laura); Kenneth Henson Millsap (Caroline); Carlton Henson Millsap; Mark Allen Millsap; Kenneth Marshall Henson, III; Jacqueline Boykin Henson; Evelyn Christensen Henson; Nell Blair Henson and Theodore Carlton Henson. He is survived by five great grandchildren: Laura Catherine Marshall; William Taylor Marshall, III; Catherine Margaret Curlet; Julia Hatcher Millsap; Sallie Wood Millsap; and Charles Henson Millsap. Obituary: Jerald (Jerry) David Henson was born 4, 1941, to Berl and Amy Henson. Jerry grew up in Sanford, Florida, and was the oldest of four children. He moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1962 and lived there the rest of his life. Jerry received his degree in pharmacy from the Southern School of Pharmacy at Mercer University and devoted his career to becoming a highly respected pharmacist. He was the longtime treasurer of the Cobb Pharmaceutical Association and was named Cobb Pharmacist of the Year in 1982. Jerry owned his own drugstore in Smyrna for years, and then went to work for Grady Memorial Hospital, from which he retired in 2002 after 23 years. Jerry also served his country by dedicating 30 years to the Naval Reserves, achieving the top rank of E-9 Master Chief Hospital Corpsman. Jerry had a passion for deer hunting, and was an expert shot. For many years, he reloaded ammunition as Precision Reloading and built an entire workshop dedicated to this hobby. In the days of C.B. radio, his handle was Reloader. He was a master at making venison jerky and chocolate and peanut butter fudge. Jerry never met a stranger and could never turn down a friend or family member in need. Jerry died on 11, 2014 at the age of 72, in his beloved home in Marietta. Its fitting that he died on Patriot Day, because he loved his country. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Beth Henson, of Centennial, CO; his son and daughter-in-law, David F. and Shana Henson, of Woodstock, GA; his grandchildren Aaron Joseph, Sloan Elizabeth and Jacob David; his sister and longtime brother-in-law, Jean and Ron Jones; his brothers Doug Henson and Jim Henson; his former wife Bettye Halliburton; his dear friend and caregiver Steven Kimani; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerrys memory to The National Stroke Association via their website at www.stroke.org.
