Obituary: To Jeremy E. Gomez, the entire world was a stage. An expressive, optimistic, and uninhibited individual, he was a performer in the theater of life. To everyone around him, he seemed to be eternally happy, and he willingly shared that joy with anyone whose life he touched. For Jeremy, bringing out the best in any situation was as easy as offering a smile, a witty remark or the twinkle of an eye. And with just those simple gestures, he could evoke the most pleasant of emotions. Jeremy really mastered the art of living and had great fun in doing so. Jeremy was born on 18, 1994 at Wellington Regional Medical in Wellington, Florida. His parents are Enrique and Kelly Gomez. Jeremy was raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. Even as a child, Jeremy had the ability to lift the spirits of all those around him. He was raised to be warm, caring and friendly. He couldn help but capture everyones attention. He was definitely a little bit of a show off, but in doing so, he succeeded in entertaining his entire family. Jeremy attended Berkshire Elementary then moved to South Olive in first grade to become part of their gifted program. He excelled in school at a young age and had no difficulty making friends. When he was younger he loved dinosaurs and knew all of their names - at the time he wanted to be a paleontologist. Always a good playmate, Jeremy was easygoing and fun loving. He managed to lighten the mood wherever he was, even during family squabbles. He seemed to have a knack for bringing compromise and erasing tense situations around the house. Due to a generous dose of common sense, Jeremy managed to find a satisfying solution to basic problems. Jeremy was raised with two siblings. He had one older sister, Amelia, and one younger sister, Kristen. He attended Palm Springs Middle School (Jefferson Davis) and was a member of their band for 3 years. There, he learned to play the alto saxophone and then the baritone saxophone. He was possessed with an outgoing personality, a lively imagination and a mellowed enthusiasm for life that allowed him to be constantly on the go. As a result, Jeremy experienced a rather active childhood, and this suited him very well. He took part in soccer at Palm Springs Youth League and was a cubscout Tiger through Webelos. He loved the natural beauty of clouds and sunsets referring to them as being "amazing". As he got older he loved being around small kids and thought about teaching. he went into the hospital in May 2010 and seeing what the PICU nurses and what they did for people he was considering becomin an RN. Jeremy was a student at Forest Hill High School and he was a member of the Engineering Academy. He was a musician in the Falcon ing Band where he and his friend Sunjay Armistead shared the "Outstanding Musician Award". He also won "Best Hair" in the band. Jeremy simply enjoyed others laughter and the sounds of his friends and acquaintances having a good time. Since experience was Jeremys best teacher. He enjoyed hands-on learning and applying the practical approach to knowledge, rather than getting caught up in heory". He enjoyed volunteering as an intern with SYC (Summer Youth ) at PBCC for two summers and with the Boredom Busters with Patrice Bowes nearly the past five years in many events. Jeremy never actually encountered a stranger in his dealings with people. He was drawn to individuals and crowds, using his gregarious, adaptable and outgoing personality to captivate his audience. This quality allowed Jeremy to continually develop new relationships, ever widening his circle of friends. Jeremy delighted in his role among all his acquaintances, because he viewed them all as potential spectators for his performance. Whether it was a story, a joke, a song or just plain fooling around, Jeremy was always right at home putting on a show among his friends. Jeremy utilized his interest in others as a great way to connect with them. He had many neighborhood friends: Cody Collins, Danny Gerena, Josh Knisley, Ralph Ortiz, Peter McGuire. Later in life, he also became friends with Misty Baker-Day (his girlfriend of three years), Karly Cronin, Brett Roberts, Zoe Jones, Tyler Kramer, Nabil Rodriguez, Brennan Delaney, Alex Dunlop, Julia Krantz, Erin Egan and many more. Jeremy loved sharing life and having his home filled with people he knew. He always remarked that he should have grown up in the 80s as some of his favorite music came from that time. He also loved the Beatles, 70s rock and more current rock. In his spare time he liked pokeman cards and an had a passion for video games - he started early PlayStation, PlayStation 2, XBox 360, Wii and WOW (World of Warcraft) online. Living life in the fast lane suited Jeremy just fine. It is no surprise that he loved to travel and to visit new and different places. He was naturally curious about other parts of the world and loved the real life adventure that came from visiting them. He was impulsive and willing to try anything once. Favorite vacations included visiting grandparents in Michigan and traveled to Italy in his 8th grade year where he intended to one day live and raise a family. During that trip he visited Verona, Pisa, Rome, Pompeii, and his favorite, Florence. Jeremy was a lover of animals and cherished his pets, enjoying them almost as much as he enjoyed being around other people. One of Jeremys favorites was Bam Bam, a Cocker Spaniel. were best friends for 4 years. Jeremy passed away on 18, 2010 at University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital-Holtz Childrens Hospital.
