Obituary: Stella Elizabeth “Betty” Gillingham, 87, passed away peacefully on , 6, 2014 at the Gainesville care in Gainesville, Florida. She had been a resident at the nursing home for one year. Mrs. Gillingham was the daughter of the late Edward Bullock Leesnitzer and Stella May Craddock. Born 15, 1926, the first of six children in Riverdale, Maryland, Betty began helping to support her family when she was still a teenager. She enjoyed a career where she excelled as an executive administrator for various companies. She continued to support her family and friends throughout her lifetime by giving of her love, time and resources. She enjoyed spending time with her family and the special joy of her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty was an exceptional homemaker, crafter, and cook who took great pride in her accomplishments. Betty was well known for creating beautiful wedding cakes and wonderful cookies enjoyed by her family and friends. She loved nature and enjoyed walking the beautiful Florida beaches with her family. A lifelong member of the Eastern Star in Maryland and Florida, Betty was installed as Worthy Matron of the Pine Castle Chapter #321 in 1988 and again in 2004. Mrs. Gillingham is survived by her sons, James R. Jorden (Sharon) of Park Hill, Maryland and Theodore D. Jorden (Debbie) of Orlando, Florida, her daughter Star Ayers of Lake City, Florida. She had ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Marsh of Brandywine, Maryland; Winifred Leesnitzer of New Market, Maryland and Isabelle Amburn of Orlando, Florida. Mrs. Gillingham was predeceased by her husband, Grover W. Gillingham, her son John R. Jorden and grandson James E. Jorden, her sister Mary Ann DiToto, and her brother David Leesnitzer. Obituary: Andrew Gillingham, age 29, went to heaven on Jan. 4, 2015. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kathryn Jensen. He is survived by his mother, Debbie Gillingham; his sister, Ajalin Gallardo; and his lifelong fishing buddies in Destin, Fla.Andrew was a local native born on Aug. 28, 1985, in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Like most of his friends, he enjoyed being outdoors and hanging out with his friends; however, he excelled at anything that was fishing related. He could fish in a mud puddle and catch a fish. He worked primarily on the Charter Boats Vixen with Capt. Neill Finkel, Charter Boat Sunrise with Capt. Kelly Windes, Charter Boat Outta Line with Capt. Trey Windes, Charter Boat Vengeance with Capt. Jason Hallmark, and Charter Boat Back Down with Capt. Gary Jarvis. He had his 100-ton captains license and carried the load of several men on the deck of a boat with skill, determination, focus, laughter, and fun. He had the personality to turn every fishing experience in to a great memory. He could fix anything and knew his way around an engine room better than some mechanics. He could paint, fiberglass, build, or fix a boat right into shape. He always carried his pocket knife and wielded it relentlessly at anything broken.Andrew had a good heart and would help anyone anytime. He didn know the word o and could cheer up anyone. He made everyone feel special and could remember peoples names and stories from years ago when he had only fished with them once. He had an amazing smile that was especially bright when he was cooking up something mischievous, which was often. If he did frown, it was usually part of prank he was concocting. He was loved. His fishing family is torn between the gratitude of knowing him and the anger that he is gone too soon.Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. with a Celebration of Life immediately following at 4 p.m. at the Destin Fishing Fleet Marina at 210 Harbor Blvd. in Destin on Jan. 9, 2015 officiated by Father Mike Hesse. Obituary: James A. Gillin, 69, of Port Orange, Florida on 27, 2012. Son of the late Elizabeth D. and James A. Gillin. Brother of Lois Marie McDonald and the late John Gillin. Mr. Gillin is also survived by Melissa and Randy Baker, Ian Baker and Laura Baker and Jason McDonald. He graduated from Landsdowne-Aldan High School in Pennsylvania. James worked at the Insurance of North America for seven years before moving to Long Island, New York in 1967. Mr. Gillin had a 25 year career with the Long Island Railroad. In 1992, Mr. Gillin retired and moved to Port Orange, Florida. He enjoyed a life-long interest in trains and trolleys. Visitation hours took place on , 6, 2012, 2:00-4:30 and 7:00-9:30 pm, at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer s, 448 West Main Street, Babylon Village, Long Island, New York 11702. A Religious Service took place evening, 8:00 pm, at the . Family and friends gathered at the funeral home on morning, 7, 2012, 9:30 am, for Mr. Gillins funeral. Prayers were said at 10:00 am before his funeral procession left the funeral home for Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, New York where his Graveside Service took place.
