Obituary: Esther L. Gatto, age 85 of Sarasota, passed away 16, 2017 at home. She was born 18, 1931 in Monesson, PA to Cecil and Thelma Johnson. Esther graduated in 1968 from St. Francis General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA as an RN. Her proudest moments of her career were spent working for Hospice of Venice. She volunteered for the Children and Family Services and the Manasota Lighthouse. Esther enjoyed crafting and reading, and most of all, spending time with her family. Esther was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Fred Gatto. She is survived by her children, Darrell Gatto, Geri-Lynn Neuwar, and Shirley Bentz; grandchildren, Rachel (Tim) Foushee, Missy Oberg, David Perhats, Heather Poploski, and Bob, Tom and Susie Bentz; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchild; brothers, Nick Mallen, Ray Dirjin, and Dennis Garcia; and sister, Millie McCombs. Visitation will be , 23, 2017 from 9am - 1pm at Palms Robarts ; 170 Honore Ave in Sarasota, FL. A graveside service will take place immediately following the visitation at Palms Robarts Memorial Park. Obituary: Thomas (Tom) Millard Gattle, Sr., 91, died peacefully in his home in Naples, Florida on 23, 2016. Tom was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on 22, 1924 as the only child of Virginia Taylor and Otto Gattle. While he spent his winters in Cincinnati, followed by Miami, he cherished each summer in northern Michigan. As a boy, summer months were enjoyed on Crooked Lake in Oden where he met his first wife, Margaret Hartman. Tom and Margaret lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and continued the tradition of Michigan summers in Bay View, outside of Petoskey with their four children. Tom completed high school at the Kentucky Military Academy and earned a degree in business at Indiana University in 1948. During his college years he attended the auxiliary naval officer-training program, serving in the Navy in World War II in the Pacific. ?Tom began his career with his father in the family business, Gattles Inc., a chain of high-end specialty retail stores focused on fine linens, which was established in 1904 by Toms grandmother, Henrietta Gattle. Under Toms leadership, Gattles Inc. grew to ten locations throughout Florida and in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Petoskey. The store in Naples on Third Street South, was established in 1964 and is one of the citys longest standing retail operations. Tom met his beloved wife, Constance (Connie) Van Voast, in Palm Beach, Florida, in 1974. were drawn together by their love for family, tennis, sailing, friends and laughter, and celebrated 35 years of marriage. Tom was known for his broad smile, warmth and charm. He never knew a stranger and was quick to strike up a conversation, always asking others about themselves. Tom is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife, Connie, and his children, Thomas (Edna) Gattle, Jr., Glenna (Burton) Atkinson, Kim (Carter Wolf) Gattle and William (Susan) Gattle and his step sons, Stephen (Barbara) Van Voast and Zachary (Marian) VanVoast. His step-daughter Cynthia Van Voast Frye preceded him in death. His fourteen grandchildren and his thirteen great-grandchildren have cherished time with their Papa Tom, which he shared with great love. Obituary: Joseph Wally Gattinella, Springfield, PA and Daytona Beach Shores, FL passed away in Volusia Hospice on 3/12/15. He was born in Smith Mills, PA on 4/12/1921. He attended Drexel University and was employed by Sunoco Co as a mechanical/cost Engineer for 25 yrs. He served in WWII as a non-commissioned Officer in the Navy. In Springfield, he served in many community organizations: as a School Board Director for 12 years and 13 years as a Trustee on the Delaware Community . In Florida, he served as Countryside owners President for 6 years and Vice President of Daytona Beach Republican Club. He served as a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Hope Church and belonged to their Cursillo. He was a member of the Lads & Lassies Ballroom Dance Club for almost 15 years serving as the treasurer for most of the time. He was a member of the American Legion for 52 years. He left Springfield, PA in 1995 to retire in Port Orange with his wife Jean, who pre-deceased him in 2001 ending their special marriage of 56 Years; he found love for the second time and married Betsy Neerland, who lost her husband 2 months prior to Jeans death. He is preceeded in death by four sisters: Ann, Jenny, Mary and Grace and survived by a younger brother, Jim. In addition to his wfe of 11 years, he leaves: daughters, Judy Gallo, (Paul)[Peter(Amy)[Jacob, Alex ,Blake, Ella] Steve(Ruthie),[ Elisha, Jonas, Micha, Bella] Matt (Nancy) [Gianna,Emma, Vinnie} all in CA.
