Obituary: GATES, Phyllis Bourquardez, 90, passed away , 21, 2014. Phyllis was born on 7, 1924 and was raised in Tampa. Her father, Phil Bourquardez, was the son of a pioneer Tampa family. His grandfather, Constant Bourquardez, immigrated from Lorrine, France and homesteaded near downtown Tampa on the Hillsborough River sometime between 1847 and 1850. Phil Bourquardez went on to become City Clerk of Tampa for 22 years. Phyllis graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1942. When she was 16 years old, she met her future beloved husband, Willard Bill Gates at Clearwater Beach Palm Pavilion. Four years later, they married in Costa Rica and lived in Panama where Bill worked on the Canal Zone for two years. Their love and life together lasted 62 years until his passing in 2006. Phyllis is survived by her daughter Allyson Gallagher and her husband Tom. She is also survived by her grandson, Ryan Gallagher, his wife Erin and their twin daughters Flora and Gemma; as well as her granddaughter, Megan Gallagher Nicolet, her husband Pierre and their children Fischer, Dawsynn and Harrison. Her husband Bill and son Bill, Jr. preceded her in death. Phyllis had a zest for life. She and her husband lived in au, Alaska for 22 years. She was an avid fisherwoman, world traveler, animal lover extraordinaire and enjoyed many family and friends outdoor events. She always had a joke to make, loved dressing up on Halloween and other occasions and brought a smile to everyone she met. She taught her grandchildren how to fish and how to discover something eat at garage sales. Phyllis will be forever missed by her family and friends, but never forgotten. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the John Knox Village Chapel on , May 7, 2014 at 10:00a.m. |

Obituary: Melody Joy Gates of Clermont, FL, 40 left her earthly body to join our Lord in heaven on 6th, 2016 after a courageous battle with ALS. Melody is survived by her husband of 16 years, Richard Gates; 11 year old daughter Clare Gates; father and mother Paul and Joyce Crane; older brothers Matt (Cathy) and Tony (Laura) Crane; grandmother Virgie Wilson and large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Melody was a committed mother and wife. Her family was always her number one priority. Born in Clare, Michigan, Melodys love for her home state stayed with her throughout her entire life and for that reason, it will be the home of her final resting place on earth. Through her quiet thoughtfulness and gentle spirit, she touched the lives of all who knew her. Prior to her illness, she enjoyed Michigan camping trips with her family, visits to Mackinaw Island, running her successful 31 business and planning her visits to see her extended family and friends in other parts of the country.
