Services are 3, 2010 Chapel Hill Mortuary Laura Goetzman 12, 1920 - 30, 2010 Laura Goetzman was born 12, 1920 in the Butler , Kentucky home of her parents, Mary Beasley Pharris, and Ingleton Pharris. Laura passed away peacefully on 30, 2010 at a Castle Rock, Colorado care center only 13 days short of what would have been her 90th birthday. Laura grew up on the family farm she loved and moved to Louisville, Kentucky as a teenager to work at Waverly Hills Sanitarium. It was there that she met, fell in love with and married Chris Goetzman. were married 20, 1939 and were married until the death of Chris, 13, 1993. The Goetzman family grew with the births of Charlotte (married to Don Kailey, deceased), Patsy ( married to Doug Henderson), and Laura ( married to Bernie Griffin). The family moved to Colorado in the 40s, but always visited Kentucky when time and finances would allow. Laura always considered Kentucky home. Over the years Laura was a housewife, worked for Heckathorn Manufacturing making rockets, and for Honeywell as an electronic assembler. She was a wonderful seamstress making the girls clothes, crocheting, and was a member of the Embroidery Guild. She also made beautiful quilts for each of the children and grandchildren. Laura was the last of her siblings, Ervin, Otha, Leila, Lula, Lily, Arthur, Ruby and Sheridan to pass away. She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte, Patsy, and Laura. Sons-in-law Bernie and Doug. Grandchildren, Don, Renee (Andy), Cammie (Mark), Laurie (Jim), Elise, Ted, Travis, David (Rachel), and Brooke (Scott). She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, Chad, Jessi, Cassidy, Shayla, Brandon (Roxy), Britlynn, Kaycie, Dakotah, Alex and Ashley. And, 2 great, great grandchildren, Austin and Aerick, with another one on the way. Our mother, grandmother, great grand mother and great great grandmother will always be greatly loved and missed more than words can say. We hope each of you that visits the site will share your memories of your time with her. |
