Obituary: (Mary) Frances Giordano, 92, passed into the arms of God 11, 2015. She was born in Walsenburg, Colorado to Jacob and Frances Hribar. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, as well as her husband's siblings. Frances married Joseph Giordano in 1941. celebrated 51 years together before his death in 1992. Survivors include her children Gene (Paula), William, Stan (Liesa), Teri Giordano; grandchildren, Roger (Sheri), Anthony (Scott Branham), Jeff (Kathy), Leanne (Nate Herrera), Michael, Jennifer Giordano, Jason (Heather) Rhine. Ten great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild also survive as well as sisters-in-law Anna and Cora Hribar and numerous nieces and nephews. Frances was an uncomplicated woman with a loving, easy going spirit. Her family was her greatest joy. She spoiled each one in her own special way. She loved to travel, cook and bake. Collecting recipes brought happiness even after she no longer cooked. Her bus trips to Cripple Creek brightened her days. She and Joe were founding members of Our Lady of the Meadows parish. Before his death and her failing health, they could be found in the first pew at every evening liturgy. Mass of Resurrection 11am , 16, 2015, at Our Lady of the Meadows Church. Internment to follow. Obituary: Ben A. Ginther, Jr., passed away peacefully in his sleep on 4, 2015. He was born to Ben and Mariàn-Esther (Flint) Ginther on May 23, 1925. He would have been 90 next month. His ancestors were among the wave of Russian-Germans who came to this area in the 1880s. Ben grew up on the Adams farm that his German grandfather had bought in 1902, and farmed there until 2009. He was a founding member of the Good Luck 4-H Club in the 1930s. He attended one year of school at the Zion Lutheran School in Brighton, but 11 years at Eastlake School and was the only Eastlake graduate in 1943. He served in the US Army in the last year of World War II, stationed in Korea. He was a long-time member and retiree of the West Adams Volunteer Fire Department. He and his life-long friend, Howard Cundall, continued to be active in Good Luck 4-H into adulthood. In 1947, he married Barbara Coan from Keenesburg, with whom he spent the next 67 years, raised six kids, and continued to farm. He was never happier than when he driving a tractor, setting irrigation tubes, fixing fence on his mountain pasture, or caring for his cattle. Ben loved the outdoors and the farming life. He managed his father's and grandfather's farm, raised cattle, had a custom hay hauling business (and was known to load and unload 42 tons of hay per day), and supplemented his income by working at Time DC Trucking and Great Western Sugar Factory in the wintertime. Ben was a long time member of the Roman Catholic Church. He traveled to the Holy Land, England, Ireland, Guatemala, and many states in the USA. His is survived by his sister, Nina Schloo, of Brighton, and six children: one daughter, Brenda Jackson of Joplin, Missouri (James); and five sons: Bruce Ginther of Broomfield (JoAnne), Brett Ginther of rural Brighton (Marge), Bart Ginther of Brush (Mary), Paul Ginther of Wichita, Kansas (Teri), and Steve Ginther of New York City (Clint). He will be greatly missed by 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces,nephews, friends, and neighbors. The viewing and Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. at St. ine's Catholic Church in Brighton on , 7. His funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Lafayette on , 8, 2015. He will be entombed at Evergreen , Highway 7, Broomfield, Colorado, next to his wife. Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, his parents, his sister, Virginia, and a grandson, Adam. Obituary: Barbara Ann Ginther passed away on 16, 2014 after a long illness. Barb was born to Ray and Marian Coan on 10, 1928 in Keenesburg, Colorado. Her ancestors were early Irish pioneers in Weld and her large extended family was an important part of her life. The one room house she was born in still exists today. As a girl, she was a 4-H member, took piano and dance lessons. She attended Keenesburg High School along with her lifelong friends Leota Barney Rock and Verda Hosmer Dawkins. She was a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Keenesburg American Legion. She attended both the University of Colorado and the University of Northern Colorado. In May of 1947 she married Ben Ginther, Jr. who farmed near Eastlake, Colorado, and with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. He survives. Barb created a preschool in her home and taught the neighborhood children in the mid-1950s. She was a member of the Lucky 13 Demonstration Club and the Altar and Rosary Society at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Eastlake. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Northglenn, Colorado. Highlights of her travels included the Holy Land, Ireland, England and Guatemala. More recently, she was a member of the Morning Prayer Group at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lafayette and the Gray Gobblers Lunching Club of Broomfield. Her friends were an important part of her life. She loved playing Canasta, sewing, Swedish weaving, growing flowers in her yard, drives in to the mountains and traveling. Barb worked at J. C. Pennys in the 1960s and at Frostline Industries in the 1970s. But, most of her life she raised the six Ginther children: Brenda Jackson of Joplin, Missouri (James), Bruce Ginther of Broomfield (JoAnne), Brett Ginther of rural Brighton (Marge), Bart Ginther of Brush (Mary), Paul Ginther of Wichita, Kansas (Teri), and Burl Ginther of New York City (Clint). She is also survived by nephew Mike Coan (Betty) of Keenesburg and niece Mary Dement (Brad) of Azle, Texas. She will be lovingly remembered by 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins . The Mass of Christian burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lafayette.
