Obituary: George Jacob Gahm died peacefully on , 25, 2015 in Parker, CO at the age of 90. George is survived by his wife, Betty, in Parker, CO; his children Gretchen Gahm/ Jim Boyd (Glenwood Springs); Gregory Gahm / Laurie Glezen (Greenwood Village); Gary Gahm / TD Price Gahm (Costa Mesa, CA); and Grant Gahm / Liz Stout (Aurora). He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Fred Fabec and seven grandchildren: Claire, Cassie, Tyler, Meghan, Chloe, Delaney and Wyatt Gahm. George had 4 nieces and 4 nephews, many of whom considered him a second father. Young friends gravitated to the Gahm household because there was always food, structure, people to play with, another set of engaged parents to support them and more than anything else, love. The Gahm family was always all about inclusion. These individuals remain part of his family. He is preceded in death by his 3 sisters, Opal Gahm, Marjorie Jagodnik and Geraldine Fabec, as well as his wifes 2 brothers, Bob and Bill Sayers. George was born on 23, 1925 in Trinidad, CO to Joseph and Myrtle Gahm. He enlisted in the army immediately after high school and served in the European theater, 42nd Rainbow Division during World War 2 where he distinguished himself with 2 Bronze Stars, 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and multiple other awards for heroism. He graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Civil Engineering and immediately went back to work for Domenic Leone (highway) Construction where he worked for more than 50 years before retiring in 1990. He received the Colo. Contractors Association Pioneer Award during his tenure with Leones. In 1952, he married Betty Jean Sayers, also from Trinidad, to whom he remained happily married for 62 years as a completely devoted husband. In 1960, the couple and their 4 children moved to Colorado Springs to be closer to work sites, but never really losing his ties to Trinidad. In 2010, they moved to Parker, CO to be closer to family. His children remember him as a kind, funny, hard-working, dedicated Christian father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and held them to high moral standards (note: Chivalry is not dead!). He often rose to drive to work by 4 AM and did not return home until 9 PM - when he was fortunate enough to be working within 100 miles. For many years, he left early morning and returned late night due to the distance to his job site. Those who worked for him remember him as a hard-working boss who was always in the trenches with them, working as hard as they did and showing everyone respect. He was a talented tenor in the church choir and always had his family in church on s. George and Betty were early members of Faith Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs where they raised their family and remained as members for nearly 40 years. When he was close enough to home to come home evenings, he loved acting in church plays and was always entertaining! His turkey gobble was the joy of every child fortunate enough to hear him! A memorial service is scheduled for 27, 2015,11 AM at Memorial Gardens, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. It will be officiated by the Reverend Dan Adams, his long-time pastor and friend from Faith Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate George's life. Obituary: Ilse Reese Gahart, an incomparable wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and artistic leader, died peacefully in her home on , 25, at age 88. Her family will cherish the memory of her great soul, her commitment to creating beauty and sharing her love with others, and her profound strength of will in meeting lifes challenges with a positive spirit. The Colorado Springs community will remember her inspirational leadership as a ballet teacher, director, and choreographer of the Rocky Mountain Ballet . Many of her dancers and students went on to have flourishing careers in national and international ballet companies. Ilse was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1926, the daughter of Maximilian Julius Schuster and Maria Foller Schuster. Before moving to the United States in 1954, she danced professionally with the Vienna Opera Ballet and the Salzburg Festival Ballet. Her parents joined her as U.S. citizens in 1959. She played a vital role in the Colorado Springs artistic community in the years that followed, founding her first ballet company, the Rocky Mountain National Ballet in 1962. She also contributed to the decision-making process that led to the construction of the Pikes Peak for the Performing Arts. She leaves her husband, Ben J. Gahart; two children, Sybill Reese Navas and Eric Christian Reese; and four grandchildren, Alexandra Reese Navas, Victoria Margaret Reese, Andrew Martin Reese, and Christian William Reese. Obituary: GAGNON, MARTHA 12/23/19231 /23/2013 89, 10 year Las Vegas resident, passed away Jan. 23, 2013. She was born in Texas on Dec. 23, 1923. Her parents moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico, where she grew up and attended high school. Martha married Bill Gagnon in 1944 and they lived in Massachusetts and Kansas. In 1960 they moved to Denver, Colorado where Bill was a respected newspaper and television reporter. She was a homemaker and raised two daughters. The girls praise there parents for providing them an "All American happy childhood." Martha was involved in all aspects of their lives from Girls Scouts to PTA to camping trips along with various other activities. Upon her husband passing in 1990, she became active in the Widow and Widowers Support Group, Central Christian Church and going to places with her many friends. she moved to Las Vegas in 2002 and lived her youngest daughter. She was very active in her quilting groups. Her proudest accomplishment was completing a quilt her mother had started in the 1930s. Martha was preceded in death by parents John and Willie; bother Billy; and her husband. She is survived by her daughters Linda of Las Vegas; Georgia (John) Crawford of Illinois; grandchildren Curtis (Mary), Nathaniel, Sarah and Joshua; great- grandchildren Lily and Peyton; bother Jim (Dorothy) of Colorado; nephews David and Gary (Heidi); great nieces Alyssa and Jenna; and the cat who adopted her, Kitty.Memorial Services will be held at Trevino Mortuary, 300 S.
