Obituary: Kathleen Tyree Gibson, 85, of Lynchburg, passed away , 19, 2015 at Liberty Ridge & Rehabilitation . She was the loving and devoted wife of Ellis Junior Gibson for almost sixty-nine years. Born 14, 1930 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Daniel George and Callie Wade Tyree. She was retired from General Electric and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Gibson is survived by her sons, Calvin Hoot Gibson of Lynchburg and Danny Ray Gibson and wife Dolores of Amherst; a brother, Richard Tyree of Rustburg; two grandchildren, Danny Ray (D.R.) Gibson, Jr. and wife Karen and Angela D. Gibson and two great-grandchildren, Cameron Gibson and Landon Gibson. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., , 23, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Gene Orme officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Gibson retired as an HVAC mechanic from Camp Peary after 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents William Henry and Mildred Gail Burch Gibson. Obituary: Jay P. Gibson passed away peacefully at his home on 1, 2015. Born on 17, 1940 in Washington, D.C to Kathryn and James Gibson, Jay was raised in Arlington, Virginia with his sister G.G. and brothers Bill and Gary. For many years he was a successful architect, and later in life turned his efforts to his true passion of photography. As an active member of the Burke United Methodist Church, he photographed new members, baptisms, church activities, and mission trips. He was an avid skier and loved Shenandoah and the mountains of Colorado and California. He enjoyed traveling; visiting such places as Moscow, Venice, and Cairo. Jay is survived by his wife, Clarice Rambo Gibson, daughter Kara Rossetto (husband John) of Tahoe Vista, California, Eric Gibson (wife Lana and her son Chris) of Stuart, Florida, son Kevin Gibson of Rollinsville, Colorado, daughter Bonnie Gibson (husband Patrick) of Fort Collins, Colorado, and stepson John Rambo (wife Connie and sons John and Stephen) of Aldie, Virginia. |
