Obituary: Waldine Hannah Ivers Olson Gillman 1923-2011 Waldine Ivers Olson Gillman of Orem, passed away peacefully on , 1, 2011, at the age of 88. Waldine was born on 1, 1923, in her parent’s home in Edgemont, Utah, to Winfield Scott Ivers and Maude Penrod. She was raised on her family’s farm in Edgemont, Utah. She was the youngest of seven children – five brothers and one sister. She was the last of her siblings to pass away. She attended Paige School in Provo and graduated from Lincoln High School in Orem. She married Robert Wesley Olson on Sept. 8, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised three daughters and one son. Robert passed away 7, 1981. In 1983 she married her second husband Glade W. Gillman. Waldine was truly a lady. She was a wonderful seamstress, cook and exceptionally talented painter. She filled her family’s hearts and homes with love and will be missed very much. She and Glade travelled throughout Europe, Australia and the United States. She served faithfully in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Two of her most cherished callings were as Young Women’s President and Relief Society President. She also belonged to the Art Council and the Orem Women’s Club. Waldine is survived by three daughters: Sherry Lee Olson of Salt Lake, UT, Susan Clyde of Provo, UT, and Sydney (Karl) Kinghorn of Lewisville, ID. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Kalley (Justin) Bowen of Rexburg, ID; Brooke Clyde of Heber City, UT; Tyree (Sean) Hokanson of Franklin, ID; Lindsay (Shawn) Flanagan of Orem, UT; McKensie (Doug) Torgerson of Rexburg, ID; and Wyatt Kinghorn, of Lewisville, ID. She is also survived by her husband Glade Gillman of Orem, UT; two stepsons, Gary (Trudy) Gillman and Finn Gillman. Waldine has nine great grandchildren, whom she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Wesley Olson and her son Robert Kip Olson. services will be held , 6, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Canyon View Stake , 575 East 800 North, Orem. Friends and family may call at a viewing held that morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Provo City . |

Obituary: LaReta B. Gillman died on 1, 2015 in the tender loving care of her husband Sam Neslen. 94 years of kindness and giving love to all she knew, LaRetas heart finally failed. She had had a rich full life. She was born on a farm in Blackfoot Idaho but grew up with her two sisters and four bothers in Salt Lake City. Her sister, Grace B. McNeil, and brother, Don R. Black, will miss her. She began her lifelong habit of caring for others at age 14 by giving up each to help care for the children of her older sister. When she was 16, LaReta met the love of her life, Howard O. Gillman, in the foyer of South High while waiting for her best friend, Betty. Because her father would not let LaReta go on eal dates, Howard became her beau by spending every sitting with her on the back porch swing of her loving home. Howard and LaReta were married in her family home in 1943 and remained together as partners in every way possible until Howards death in 1991. LaReta traveled with Howard throughout World War II in his cadet and pilot training. Twice LaReta sent Howard off to fly in the war, once for the European Theater and once for the Pacific Theater, and cried all the way back to Salt Lake City. LaReta and Howard purchased r Abstract and Title in 1952 for $500.00 and renamed it Reliable Title. LaReta worked side by side with Howard in the title business for 39 years. spent every day working together. LaReta used the profits from the business to give generously to all she knew. LaRetas real joy in life was in supporting her son, Duane H. Gillman, and his children, Jason D. Gillman, Sean A. Gillman, and Brenna Jane Gillman in all their pursuits. From shagging balls hit at Duanes batting practice ever morning when he was young, to reading from the Science & during Howards illness and each challenge her son and grandchildren faced, LaReta was always there helping her family in any way she could. marrying Sam Neslen in 2007, LaRetas loving support extended to all of Sam children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was there to hold every new child born to this loving family. All members of Sams family were enriched by LaRetas involvement in their lives. Despite failing heath, LaReta with the help of Sam, continued to help Duane by work at Duanes law firm, Durham, Jones & Pinegar up until 2 weeks before her death. Throughout her life, LaReta had a great passion for Utah football and golf. She attended almost all home games of the Utah football team from 1939 through the first game of this season. She also attended three of Utahs bowl games. For 53 years LaReta and the members of her foursome played golf at Forest Dale Golf Course every . LaReta will be missed by the Utah fans around her at the games and all the staff and regular golfers at Forest Dale. A viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East in Salt Lake City, Utah on 10, 2015 from 10:30a.m. until 11:30a.m. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 12:00p.m. to 1:00p.m. A grave dedication will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. A celebration of LaRetas life will be held at the Fort Douglas Officers Club, from approximately 2:30p.m. until 4:00p.m. on the day of the funeral, 10, 2015. Food will be provided. Marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple, 8, 1989 She lived her married life in Orem, except for short time in Florida, while Dad was in the Army. She had 10 brothers and sisters. She loved to cook, keep a clean and organized home, sewing, and quilting. Gardening was her joy in life and she loved to go dancing with her husband. She owned a catering business for 10 years “Gillman Catering”. She had a greenhouse and sold what she grew, she was knowledgeable about plants and flowers. She loved Spring/Summer - when she could be outside in the soil. She won the Orem Beautification award for her yard. She is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son, Carolyn (Don) Thorne, Eagle Mountain, Utah, Kent (Carolyn) Gillman, Moorpark, California, Pat Anderson (Kent) Penrod, Benjamin, Utah, Colleen (Gene) Baird, Orem, Utah. She has 17 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Don G. Gillman, her parents, one grandson, a son-in-law, one great granddaughter, 5 brothers, and 1 sister. Obituary: Chad C. Gillman, loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away 28, 2007 doing what he loved best. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his love and service. Chad was born 16, 1956 in Provo, Utah to Glade W. And Betty Cameron Gillman. He graduated from Orem High School in 1974 and worked for Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe for the past 20 years. He married his best friend and sweetheart, Jennifer Jones, on 2, 1999 in Provo, Utah. He devoted his life to his family and loved to spend time with them. His children were the joys of his life and meant the world to him. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, and everything about the outdoors. Chad was a prankster and enjoyed a good laugh.
