Obituary: Kathryn Bartula Guthrie, age 76, passed away on , 18, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. Kathryn was born 24, 1938 to Thomas and Catharine Bartula. Kathryns life was full of love, fun and happy memories. She was the pillar of her family and was loved by her husband Jack, her children Lynn, Chris, Kent and Jennifer. Born in Fort Worth, she created a happy home for everyone everywhere during a KMart life with Jack, which lead from San Antonio to Arkansas, Florida, West Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia and finally back to San Antonio where she spent the rest of her life enjoying her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her generosity, compassion, and love of life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Guthrie and son, Kent Guthrie. Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Laura Lynn Guthrie (Peter); son, Chris Guthrie (Reba); daughter, Jennifer Dessant (Steven); 6 sisters, Bonnie Bartula, Lena Bartula, Emy Bartula, Patty Williams, Debbie Pennebaker and Nancy Jones; brother, Michael Bartula; grandchildren, Sean , Ryan, Lauren, Kent and Katie and a great-grandchild, Addyson. Obituary: John D. ÂJack Guthrie passed away , 16th at the age of 70 in San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his son Kent Patrick Guthrie and his parents Alice Kennedy Guthrie and John Dudley Guthrie Jr. He is survived by his wife Kathryn Guthrie; his daughters Lynn Guthrie and Jenifer Descant; son John Christopher Guthrie;and grandchildren Sean, Ryan, Lauren and Kent. Also his sisters, Jane Auchter of Tampa Florida, Mary Jo Michalske of Bay Village, Ohio and Genevieve Kauffman of Hudson, Ohio. Jack was born on 30th, 1936 in Phoenix, Az. Following his education and BachelorÂs degree from St. MaryÂs University, Jack had a successful 35 year career with the K-Mart Corporation in various locations in the United States including Arkansas, Florida, Oklahoma, and Georgia. His fruitful career culminated as the Executive Vice President of BuilderÂs Square here in San Antonio. Following his retirement in 1992 he was surrounded by friends, family and hobbies, and he traveled extensively with his wife throughout the world. |

Obituary: Inez Marie was born in San Antonio, Texas on 20, 1913 and died , 23, 2014. She is preceded in death by her father, Gus Huebner; mother, Ilma Gembler Huebner; brother, Merl A. Huebner; her beloved husband, George Clifton Guthrie and son Clifton W. Guthrie. She is survived by her daughter Merle Elizabeth Ireland; daughter-in-law, Catherine Phipps Guthrie; grandchildren, Mark Clifton Guthrie and wife, Melissa, Melissa C. Fasken and husband, Craig Fasken, Roger P. Ireland and wife, Barabara and Commander James Clifton Ireland, USN. She was blessed with five great-grandchildren, Gillian Leigh Guthrie, Grayson Clifton Guthrie, Piper Jewel Fasken, John Preston Ireland and Penelope Laine Ireland. Inez resided in San Antonio all her life and was active with her husband, and brother in the formation of C.C.C. Group, Inc., an international construction company based in San Antonio, Texas. She was a lifetime member of Highland Park Lutheran Church and was active in the Laurel Club, Altrui Court No. 89 of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of N.A., Order of the Eastern Star, Bexar Chapter 616, Daughters of the Nile, Nekodah Temple No. 44 and the Grand Lodge of the Order of the Sons of Hermann. Inez supported and was active in the American Legion, Arthur Glember Post 375, named after her uncle killed in WWI. She served as a Docent at the University Of Texas Institute Of Texan Culture. She told vivid tales of the hardships and adventures of the early settlers and captivated her audiences for over 20 years. Inez was a fifth generation Texan who loved to study the history of the State. She belonged to The German Texas Heritage Society, San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Society, Bandera Historical Society and also a member of Jane Douglas Chapter, Daughters the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Chapter 6. the death of her husband, Inez established a scholarship fund for worthy students at Oklahoma State University in the names of George Clifton and Inez Guthrie. Inez was a devoted wife, mother, dedicated bridge player and good friend to many as well as an inspiration of courage and honesty. She will live forever in our hearts.
