Obituary: We send our love and prayers to a very special individual, Paul MacDonald Green, attorney and Col., U.S. Army ret. Born in Butler, Pennsylvania, his parents, Jesse and Tom Green, Sr., brought Paul and his brother Tom to San Antonio as soon as they could. Pauls strong work ethic was formed at an early age when he was selected as the Kiddie Reporter for a local radio station. He graduated from Alamo Heights High School. Paul received his undergraduate education and law degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a more, than active member of Sigma Alpha Episolon. Paul joined the Army and served as a military lawyer specializing in European claims from his duty station in Paris. It was there he developed his life-long love of France and its people. Paul respected and loved the law and our country judicial system. He was an outstanding litigator who honed his skills under the tutelage of his mentor, Beb Ladon and instructions from Judge Solomon Casseb, Jr. While Paul had the highest respect for opposing counsel, they found him very penurious in settlement discussions influenced by his Scottish heritage and respect for the value of a dollar. The Texas Association of Defense Counsel T.A.D.C., which he served as President, and the American of Trial Lawyers, were the professional organizations he held most dear. Over the years, Paul enjoyed the fellowship of many law partners and support staff, especially Allan Dubois, JoAnn Sager, Roberta Williams and Nancy Graham. Paul was an athlete and a fan, allowing the Longhorns and Spurs to try his patience greatly upon occasion. In addition to his spiritual home in France, Pauls other special place was Pebble Beach. Paul MacDonald Green was truly a gentlemen and a scholar. He was loved by his wife, Cathy Obriotti Green, his daughters, Lynn Green and Tracy Anderson Steve and his brother, Tom Green Katherine. He will be greatly missed by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law including Susan and Jackie Moravick, Ginger and Larry Walsh, JoJo Obriotti, Jake Obriotti, Jr. and Lisa Armstrong and, Colleen and D.G. Goff. He loved his nephews and nieces, Carrie and Tommy Green, Susan Green, Stacy Tompkins Kelly, Stephen Moravick, Katherine Walsh and Victoria Walsh. The honorary pallbearers are Allan Dubois, George Luhn, Clem Lyons, Micky Rollins, Arthur Troilo and Allan Wright. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the University of Texas Science at San Antonio, Office of External Affairs, 7703 Floyd Curl Drive, Mail Code 7835, San Antonio, TX 78229-3900 or the charity of your choice. |

Obituary: Patrick A. Green, of Conroe, died at Cornerstone Hospital on , 12, after a lengthy illness. A respected attorney, devoted husband and brother, loving father, and generous friend, he leaves a legacy of family, friendships, laughter, and faith, and will be profoundly missed. Born on 13, 1944 in Houston, Pat attended Holy Rosary School and later studied with the Basilian fathers at both St. Annes School and St. Thomas High School. During breaks in his education, both voluntary and involuntary, he worked as a carpenter and served in the U.S. Army¬, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6). Following family tradition, he attended the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 1969 with a B.A. in English. Upon earning his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1972, he joined in legal practice with his father, Thomas F. Green, Jr., at Green & Green, P.C., in downtown Conroe. During his 43 years as a practicing attorney, Pat upheld the highest standards of ethics and professionalism and made a positive difference in his clients and colleagues lives until his retirement in 2015. In 1971, he married the former Theresa Ann (Tag) Ganss, of Houston, with whom he built a warm, loving home. Together they raised four children whom they provided for and supported in innumerable ways, and built deep friendships in the Conroe community, particularly at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, through small prayer groups and as volunteer teachers of RCIA and Confirmation. Along the way Pat found time to travel the globe, appreciate art and literature, train Labrador Retrievers and Brittany Spaniels, and master the art of one-pot cooking. Pat was also an avid and accomplished duck hunter, angler, and competitive skeet shooter. A man of limitless generosity, the Original Pat Green gave freely of whatever he had to whomever he met. With unbridled enthusiasm for his Irish and Cajun heritage, Pat could host a party unlike any other. Through his magnanimous spirit and disarming humor, he possessed an extraordinary ability to bring people together. From the levees and marshes of LaBelle in southeast Texas, to the smoky air of the Montgomery BBQ Cook-Off, to the tailgate lots of South Bend, Indiana where he cheered on his beloved Fighting Irish, Pat welcomed all to share food, drink, and camaraderie in vast proportions. At the family beach house in Caplen, Texas, guests were sure to enjoy feasts of boiled shrimp and seafood gumbo, washed down by what were likely the best piña coladas the Bolivar peninsula has ever known. Deeply devoted to his Catholic faith, Pat was a lifelong supporter of the Churchs schools, liturgical and sacramental life, missions, and outreach to the poor. He saw the face of Christ in people from all walks of life, whether they be homeless wanderers of Conroe or bishops of the Galveston-Houston Diocese. He had a special love for vowed religious sisters and priests, among whom he developed many lasting friendships. He mentored many younger people, especially young men, treating them as his own sons. In the largeness of his heart, he encouraged others to believe in themselves and to more clearly see their own goodness and beauty. He shepherded his family though the loss of his wife Tag Green to cancer in 2005. In 2012, he married the former Tracey McGowen, who lovingly accompanied him through the joys and sorrows of his later years. Even as he struggled with illness, he could be found with a twinkle in his eyes, a sympathetic ear, and an affirming compliment to all who visited-often with a cigar in his mouth as he held court beneath a No Smoking sign. Pat lived a robust and colorful life, and left an abiding impression of Gods love and grace on all who had the good fortune to have known and loved him. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas F. Green, Jr. and Mary Lou Hebert Green of Houston; by his wife of 34 years, Theresa Ann Ganss Green; by his elder brothers Thomas F. Green III and Joseph Martin Green of Beaumont, and by his elder sister Mary Lou Hall of Denver, Colorado. He is survived by his second wife Tracey Green and her children Payton Bethany, Hosanna Rae, Elisabeth Claire, and Noah Bill McGowen; by his children Timothy Patrick, Andrew Thomas, Meghan Mary, and Kevin Michael Green; by his daughters-in-law Katie Rae, Kate Ellen, and Jill Poland Green; by his seven grandchildren Theresa Dianne, Agnes Therese, Thomas Patrick, David Hebert, John Timothy, Frances Helene, and Nathaniel James Green; by his brothers Michael R. and J. Stephen Green, sisters Marjo Sauer, Helen Young, and Frances E. Hall, and numerous additional in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A vigil and rosary of remembrance will be held on , 17th at 8:00 pm at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houston, TX. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on , 18th at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe, TX, followed by a short reception in the Parish Hall. The burial will take place at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston at 3:00 pm afternoon.
