Obituary: Paul B. Gipson, Capt. USMC retired, age 32, died 16, 2001 in San Antonio. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, he attended Eanes public schools and graduated from Westlake High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin and earned his commission in the United States Marine Corps in 1990. He proudly served as a logistics officer in the Corps for almost 10 years before being medically retired. Service recognitions include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his involvement with Desert Storm, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Upon military retirement, Paul was employed by KPMG Consulting as a business consultant. A devoted father, Paul supported his children in their activities and took pride in his position as a Cub Scout Leader. He was also an active member of the Presbyterian Church. A man of impeccable integrity, strength and intellect, Paul courageously battled melanoma for over 2 years. He will be greatly missed by his wife Karen and children Christina, Jeffrey, and Jennifer; parents, Robert and Annette; borther, Michael, his wife Adana, and nephew David; grandparents, Lamar and Elizabeth Foster; father-in-law and wife, Lee and Jane Ellen McGuiness; brother and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. |

Obituary: Marion North Gipson died peacefully on , 23, 2016, in Grapevine, Texas. She is now at home with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She is predeceased by her parents, Newton and Sybil North, and her sister, Marjorie Roper. Born 6, 1924 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, she graduated from Lake Charles High and LSU. She met Raymond Gipson in Lake Charles and they were married in 1951. She and Raymond moved to Orange, Texas shortly after their marriage. Returning to Louisiana in 1971, they lived in DeQuincy and DeRidder until their return to Texas in 2011 to be closer to family. Marion loved golf and bridge. She also served in various roles in Methodist churches over her entire life. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Raymond Edward Gipson, of Grapevine, sons, Lynn Gipson and his wife, Jean, of Coppell, Texas and Don Gipson of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Lindsay Gipson Safran, her husband, Jason, and Craig Allen Gipson, his wife, Jessie; and great-grandchildren, Grant and Blake Safran, and Luke Gipson; and several nieces. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 406 Shirley St., DeRidder, Louisiana 70634. A memorial service will be held at 10am , 30, 2016 in the chapel at Rolling Oaks , 400 Freeport Parkway; Coppell, TX 75019. |
