Obituary: Jessie Faye (Aday) Giles of Hamilton, Texas passed away quietly May 9, 2015 at home after a two-year illness, surrounded by her family. Jessie was born on 23, 1930 to her sharecropper parents, Harrison and Jessie Aday in Farmersville, TX. Jessie Faye graduated from Farmersville High School in 1948 and was named Most Beautiful. Jessie moved to Irving, Texas and later to Dallas where she worked for the Federal Reserve Bank, and became a champion Ping Pong player. In 1951 she married the love of her life, Benny R. Giles, whose cousin had introduced them. She worked for a time for Hogan Insurance Agency and International Harvester before becoming President and CEO of The Giles Household as the two became six. Jessies life was founded on her deep abiding faith as the core. Her family and friends were of great importance to her. She was a long time member of the church of Christ, having been baptized in the early 1950s. She served wherever they lived in Dallas, Duncanville, Ennis, and Hamilton. Jessie was dedicated to her Lord, to her family and to providing a Christian home. Hospitality was her gift. During their 64 years of marriage, Jessie and Benny opened their home to one and all, especially taking young couples under their wings. Their motto was, The more the merrier. Their gatherings were filled with laughter always. Jessie was quite talented and creative. She could make a most delicious meal out of practically nothing, including such things as just one or two biscuits or two cookies. She loved country living, bird watching and spying on the wild life. Jessie loved the simple, not the fancy. She was an accomplished artist, but remained quite modest always. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her only sibling, Edna Lee of Hamilton. Edna had helped their father raise Jessie after the death of their mother when Jessie was an infant. Survivors include her spouse, Ben Giles, their sons Keith of Farmersville, Mark (Carla) of Hamilton; also daughters Suzi Climer (Scott) of Mesquite and Amy Jones (Steve) of Katy, and by nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Jessies life at 2:00 pm , May 16 at the Park Heights Church of Christ, Hamilton. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Arms of Hope which supports Medina and Boles Childrens s located at 21300 Hwy 16 North, Medina, Texas 78055 (830-522-2200). |
