Obituary: LINDA SUE (BROWN) GEIGER 16, 1947 ~ 18, 2015 It is with untold sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Sue Geiger. A spirited soul, she exited this world in the loving arms of her husband and daughters while receiving loving caresses and words of endearment on 18, 2015. Linda was 67 years old. Born to William Bill and Rosalie Brown in Vancouver, WA, Linda attended and graduated from Hudsons Bay High School in 1966. It was there that she met the love of her life, Merle Geiger. Linda and Merle wed in 1967 and built a life filled with a focus on family, love, laughter, and mutual admiration that lasted for nearly 48 blissful years. A loving and dedicated wife, as well as an involved and devoted mother to her daughters, she took great pride in the responsibilities that each role presented. As a driven and passionate career woman, Linda began her career at 1st Independent Bank. Putting her generous, giving heart to use she was a longtime employee at MJ Murdock Charitable Trust as a Grants Manager. An accomplished woman, she was twice named Business Woman of the Year by the American Business Womens Association. She continued her love of philanthropic interests after relocating to St. Paul, MN in 1992 at the Minnesota Private Foundation and after moving to Fort Worth, TX in 1999 she lent her many talents to the Bass Performance Hall childrens programs. In 2004, Linda joined the ranks of the happily retired where she would spend endless hours cultivating her garden. The glory of gardening for Linda was when her hands were in the dirt; her head in the sun and her heart was embedded in nature. Nurturing her garden not only fed her body and mind but more profoundly her soul. Linda lives on, etched in our memories and stored in the forgotten corners of our lives. Linda was a woman of spirit and compassion, she had an inner light and strength that seemed to fill the room with hope; it made one want to savor it and not let it go. Many were inspired by her courage and her fortitude, both of which fueled her journey. Lindas interests shaped her personality and belief system into one that emphasized a love for adventure, integrity and selflessness. Linda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, brother George C. Brown and granddaughter, Waverly Hope Douglas. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Merle; children Jennifer Lynn Geiger-Douglas and husband Michael Douglas, Minde Merle Geiger and husband Jason Johnson; sister Pamela Farwell; and granddaughters Bailey Rose Douglas (16) and Emily Rose Roberts (21). While her passing causes a profound sadness, her life is cause for great celebration. Obituary: Evelyn Lucille Geiger, a woman who helped guide many family challenges over her 83 years, was welcomed into the House of our Lord in the early hours of morning, the 25th of , 2007. Born in the Heartland of America Iowa on 9th, 1923 to Doyle and Lucille Streit, she soon became the older sister of brother Donald, all who preceded her to heaven. She took on many roles, the Army wife of LTC. Robert Geiger for 27 years, mother to 5 children - Sgt. Robert Alan Geiger, Jr., James Richard Geiger wife Bonnie, Deborah Ann Geiger, Sgt. Donald Dean Geiger, Dr. Karen Lucille Geiger, as well as being both mother and grandmother to Melinda Palmier. Other grandchildren who loved her are, Jamey and Danny Geiger, Dana Carroll, Jr., Jason Alvarado, Jr., Vanessa and Faith Geiger, and Lauren Lucille Geiger-Gay, as well as several great-grandchildren. She loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well a serving her country abroad during WWII in the Womans Army Corps. Later on, she became a proficient legal secretary, and served many years as the Secretary of the 5th Army Recruiting Battalion in San Antonio. While her main interest was family devotion, she loved animals of all sorts, volunteer work in both the Boy and Girl Scouts for her children, as well as just enjoying life. Visitation will be at 12:00 noon on , 28th, at Porter Loring Mortuary McCullough, followed by a chapel service at 1:00 P.M., then interment with Full Military Honors at Fort Sam Houston National at 2:15pm. |
