Obituary: Louis Anthony Gazzaniga, 86, passed away 22, 2005 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in North Adams Massachusetts. In 1939, he enlisted in the U.S. Army retiring 33 years later as a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. During World War II he served with distinction in both the Pacific and European Theaters. His career with the Air Weather Service included tours at USAFE Wiesbaden, Strategic Air Command, U.S. Strike Command, and the Pentagon. He was a graduate from the University of Nebraska. the military, he managed the family wallpaper and paint store in North Adams, Massachusetts, and he also served as the local head of the Republican Party. In 1992, he and his wife retired to San Antonio, Texas. Col. Gazzaniga was predeceased by one sister and four brothers. He is survived by his wife, Faith; three children, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, a sister, and a brother. |

Obituary: GAZZANIGA Faith Mary Gazzaniga passed away 8, 2014 after having lived 91 full years. She was born on 21, 1922 in Albany, New York. attending Goucher in Towson, Maryland she ultimately graduated with a B.A. degree from the of St. Rose in Albany, New York in 1945. She was awarded a fellowship from the American Red Cross to Fordham University and graduated with a M.S. degree in social work in 1949. During her time at Fordham, she served in the Red Cross as a hospital social worker at Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey and at Mitchel Field, Long Island, New York where she met and married Air Force officer Louis A. Gazzaniga on 7, 1948. Faith did volunteer work with the Red Cross, Girl and Boy Scouts of America, and was active in the PTA and local Garden Clubs. Faith worked as a social worker, ending up as the director of social service for the North Adams Regional Hospital in Massachusetts. During her tenure as a social worker, Faith was a member of the National Association of Social Workers and was active at a state, regional, and city level as a representative for the elderly. Faith was a faithful military wife and was involved throughout Louis service with the wives clubs at their various postings. Faiths extracurricular activities continued with her husbands retirement first in North Adams, Massachusetts, then to their final home in San Antonio. Faith always had an interest in the arts, whether it be in music, the stage, literature, or the visual arts, the last manifesting itself in her becoming an amateur painter working in oils, water colors, and pastels. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Margaret; her husband, Col. Louis A. Gazzaniga; and her daughter, Jane Teresa Gazzaniga, who passed away earlier in 2014. Faith is survived by her daughter, Louise and her husband, Douglas; son, John; grandchildren, Rebecca, Suzanne, and Michael; and great-grandchildren, James Anthony, Sarah Eleanor, and Peter Scott. A Memorial Service will be held on her birthday, , 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the High Flight Chapel at Air Force Village II. A reception will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Roadrunner Lounge. Her interment will take place at Fort Sam Houston National where she will join her husband and daughter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Child Fund International, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294. |

Obituary: Maj-Britt Helena Winsten-Gazda, passed away at the age of 74, surrounded by family on 8, 2016. She was born in Stockholm, Sweden, the only child to the late Astrid and Axel Winsten on 30, 1941. She attended nursing/midwife school. She traveled extensively with her first husband Robert Morgan. She used to say 4 children born in a different continent except Australia. She was very proud of her Swedish heritage and kept up with the Swedish language, culture and traditions, including being a member of SWEA and VASA (Swedish), but used to say when here go home to Sweden and when in Sweden said go home to USA! She worked as an RN in many different areas, but even after going back to school for her BS and MS, she preferred the patient contact. She was a member of the Texas Association and was a sponsor to come and work at Methodist Hospital in Houston for a year for the Kiwanis Club. Since 1975, she has lived in Dallas. She was a member of Community Bible Chapel and God was the source of strength, kindness and faith. Left to cherish her memory is her husband since 1999, Ron Gazda; her children, Ejan Newby and Chad Gable; Marc Morgan and wife Lisa, Lisa Mandell and husband Kenny, and Eric Morgan; grandchildren, Chase and wife Destinee, Clay, Joey, Sara, Dax, Will, Max, Zoe, Sophia and Olivia. Obituary: Jerry B. Gazaway, 75, longtime resident of Brownwood, Texas went to be with his Lord on , May 23, 2017. He was living near his daughter in Duncan, Oklahoma the last few months of his life. services will be , May 26, 2017 at 2:00 at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church where he was a longtime member. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM at Davis-Morris , 800 Ave., Brownwood. Pallbearers will be Jeff Ash, Jason Gazaway, Ken Harris, Gerry Kelley, Troy Evans and Buck Pierce. Jerry was born to J.B. and Julia Ann (Jan) Gazaway on 27, 1941 in Seminole, TX. He married the love of his life, Judy Ann Wester, on 4, 1960 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. To this incredible loving relationship were born their two children, J. Byron and JNell Lynn. Throughout Jerry and Judys 52 years of marriage, they lived in numerous communities over the states of New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado with Pagosa Springs, Colorado (1978-1996) and Brownwood, Texas (1996 to 2017) being the two communities in which they spent most of their married lives. Jerry was an accomplished metal fabricator and machinist. He was one of the early pioneers of the shaving baler industry. He and his dad started baling shavings in the early 1970s. He designed, built and marketed the REAL TUFF SHAVING BALER. He owned and operated THE MACHINE SHOP that was located on South Hwy 84 in Pagosa Springs from 1980-1996. Jerry and Judy then moved to Brownwood, Texas to be closer to family where he continued to market the REAL TUFF Baler from his Real Tuff Industries machine shop until his retirement in 2007. his retirement, he was always available to do repairs for family, friends and his church. He loved working with his hands and he had the brilliant mind to be able to figure out a workable solution to any task that challenged him. His greatest accomplishment, which he greatly enjoyed, was to build the fence around the playground and the swing set at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. Jerry was a great man of faith. Because of his faith, he desired to follow the commands of his Lord which led him to being a loving husband, dad, grandpa, papa, brother, uncle and friend. His greatest desire was for all his family to put God first. He loved to serve his church family. In every church he attended, he served in some capacity. Most often he was a School teacher, which he absolutely loved; it was the highlight of his week. In several churches he was also music director. Jerry received much joy meeting the needs of others, never wanting repayment. He truly walked the walk of a follower of Christ. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Jan Gazaway, and his loving wife, Judy. He is survived by his son J. Byron and his wife, Adela, of San Antonio, TX; his daughter, JNell Ash and her husband, Greg, of Duncan, OK; his granddaughters Brianna Ghosn and husband, Jay; Kimberlee Ash and Bexy Carpenter and her husband, Gary; his grandsons Jeffrey Ash and fiancée Keri Hughes and Jason Gazaway; and his great-grandsons Preston and Isaiah Estrada and Jaxon Carpenter and great-granddaughters, Alaina Ash and Raquel Hughes; one sister, Boby Harris, and her husband, Ken, of Brownwood, TX; one brother, Tom Gazaway, and his wife, Judy, of Lemon Grove, CA; his nieces, Kathy McClure and Terry Goodman; his nephews Jeff Harris and Keith Gazaway; and cousins and close friends.
