Obituary: Polly S. Gay was born in Washington, NC on 2, 1928 to Elias Haywood and Pearl (Asby) Shepherd, and entered eternity on 8, 2016 in San Antonio, TX. She was a faithful member of Alamo Heights Christian Church, an avid sports fan and loved the Spurs.

Polly was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Haywood Gay. Surviving are her sons, George Gay (Kathy), Richard Gay; grandsons, Christopher Gay (Donelle), Lance Gay; great-granddaughter, Faith Marie Gay; and sister, Ruby Jones. She is also survived by an extended family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Peggy was born 12, 1926 in Breckenridge Texas to Clarence T. and Kathryn B. Hess. The family then moved to Bonham where she was crowned Miss Bonham when she was about 5 years old. The family settled in Denison by the time she was 7 years old where she lived for the rest of her life; attended Denison schools and was a graduate of Denison High.

Peggy started work at the Rialto and then the Star Theater, both in Denison. She then worked at Citizens National Bank in Denison when she met her future husband who also worked there, Joseph W. Gay. On 16, 1950 she married Joe, also of Denison, at St. Patricks Catholic Church. welcomed their first child Susan a few years after their marriage. 12 years later, Bill was added to the family.

Peggy enjoyed reading, quilting and painting which was also enjoyed by her mother Kathryn. Peggy took care of the household while Joe was busy being active in the community and at work. Peggy was a fantastic mother and grandmother who enjoyed family life.

She is survived by brother Johnny Hess and spouse Ava of Wichita Falls, TX; daughter Susan Handeland & husband Gene of Denison; son William (Bill) Gay & wife Cindy of McKinney; grandsons Nicholas Marsico & Gregory Marsico; step-grandson Mitch Handeland; step-granddaughter Michelle Perry; several great step-grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice.

Obituary: MARTIN ARTHUR GAY, "MARTY," was born in Ithaca, New York, raised in Elmira, New York, with his fraternal twin, Richard
Gay (deceased), and sister Patricia. He graduated from Southside High School. He was the son of Lewis Spencer Gay and
Victoria Moore Gay, and stepmother Gladys Gay (all now deceased). earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University, he was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft from 1959-1964 in East Hartford, Connecticut, where he was instrumental in the development of the fuel cell for the Apollo Project. During this time he earned his Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He was employed by the Dow Chemical in 1964, beginning as a chemical engineer and progressing to management positions in Michigan, Connecticut, Arkansas, New Jersey, Ontario, Canada, and finished his career in Houston, Texas as Manager and Functional Leader in Marine Transportation. He retired in 1995 and lived in Sugar Land.

Marty and his wife, Nelda (Walter) Gay, married in Elmira, New York in 1960. He and Nelda celebrated their fiftith wedding anniversary on 26, 2010 during a family cruise with their children and grandchildren.

As a Christian young man, Marty was active during his college years in the newly established Brookline, Massachusetts Church of Christ, and in a new congregation in his hometown of Elmira, New York. While living in Connecticut, he and Nelda worked with a group of families to begin a congregation in Manchester, Connecticut. As he was transferred to other locations, he eagerly served the church and the Lord as a song leader, teacher, deacon, elder, and advisor. During his nearly twenty years in the Sugar Land area, Marty taught Bible classes and served in the World Bible School Program and the Foreign Missions Committee in the Sugar Grove congregation.

Marty enjoyed his many years as a Christian husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving are his children, sons Richard and David, and daughter Alice Ogden. He leaves wonderful memories with his grandchildren, Lauren and Megan Ogden, Jonathan Gay, Alex Richardson, and Lindsay Runsick.

Marty loved music in worship and was also actgive in a barbershop quartet and performed for over fifteen years with the barbershop chorus, the Houston Tidelanders. He was also an active volunteer for seventeen years at the Brazos Bend State Park. Marty thrived during retirement, developing websites for several organizations, singing with the Tidelanders, traveling the world with the love of his life, and spending time with his family, sharing precious moments together. He has been an amazing example of a Godly life. He loved the Lord, and diligently sought to live out his faith every day, sharing his love and blessings with many.

Ethel Marie (McBroom) Gay, age 76, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away on , 13th, 2016. The family plans to celebrate both the lives of Marie and her sister, Frances Ann (McBroom) Thompson, at this time.

Marie, known as Nurse Gay at Brownwood Regional Memorial Hospital for 20 years, Aunt E by many nephews & nieces, and Nannie by grandkids & great-grandkids, was born 2, 1939 to Alexander Alex Moreland McBroom and Myrtle Marie Huff. Preceding her in death were her parents, her daughter, Diana Marie Gay Woodward, who died 25, 2011, a grandson, Tommy Lynn Woodward, 28, 1981, and her sister, Frances Ann (McBroom) Thompson, 23, 2014. Known for her sweet nature, her crocheted pillow cases, her love for her dogs, Muffy, Tiki, and Cici, and her collection of Elvis Presley memorabilia, she had many friends and neighbors who will miss her terribly. Marie was a member of Austin Avenue Church of Christ in Brownwood.
Marie is survived by a sister, Martha Marty McBroom Ketchersid, of Abilene, TX, grandchildren Stacy (Michael) Busch of Waco, TX, Laura (Jarrod) Coffman of Waco, TX, & Randy Woodward, brother-in-law Claude Thompson of Dallas, TX (loved her as a sister), six great-grandchildren, many nieces & nephews, and friends, Ruby Maldonado, Minessa Mesic, Pat Waddle, & Juanita Karnes, who helped care for her on a daily basis.

Obituary: Andrew McDonald ÂMack Gay, Jr. of San Antonio died of cancer on 28, 2006, at the age of 74. Mack was born on 2, 1931 in Denton, Texas, to Andrew McDonald Gay, Sr. and Gladys Bruce Gay. He graduated from Denton High School in 1948 and attended North Texas State . While in high school he met the love of his life, Barbara Wadley. married on 10, 1950 at the Little Chapel in the Woods on the Texas WomanÂs University campus. MackÂs mother died of cancer in 1958. In 1962, his father married Mary Claude Bays Gambill. Growing up as an only child, Mack was thrilled to gain three brothers, Woody, David and Jim. In 1952 Mack was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve in the Korean conflict. Upon his return from the war, between 1955—1959, he went to work for his father in the roofing, sheet metal, heating and air conditioning business. Between the births of his two daughters, Patricia and Rebecca, Mack enlisted in the Army after deciding to make it his career. An artillery specialist, he graduated from Officer Candidate School and went on to serve two tours of duty in Vietnam, first as a battery commander, then as a battalion executive officer. Mack graduated from the Command and General Staff and later served for three years on its faculty, where he developed training management courses which became the model for future instruction. For two years he served as an Intelligence Staff Officer working on the development of a computerized Counterintelligence Record Information System. His most enjoyable assignment was when he served as Senior Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Commander in Chief of U.S. Army Europe in 1973-74. He retired from the Army as a lieutenant colonel in1978 after a stint as an assistant Inspector General of the Fifth U.S. Army at Fort Sam Houston. In 1970 Mack earned his B.S. degree in business management at Hampton Institute in Hampton, Virginia. Military honors awarded Mack include the Legion of Merit and four Bronze Stars. He was one of the first recipients of the Meritorious Service Medal established by President Lyndon B. Johnson, and ultimately was awarded three such medals. retiring from the Army, Mack began a second career in the banking industry with Houston National Bank. Among other duties he was manager of check processing, an employment manager and manager of lobby services. the bank was acquired by North Carolina National Bank, Mack was transferred to Dallas, where he started a contracts and standards department for the bankÂs Texas operations. He retired in 1976 as Vice-President in charge of the contracts and compliance department. In 1997, Mack and Barbara moved to The Towers retirement community in San Antonio where Mack served four years on the Board of Directors, one as President. Mack was an avid ham radio operator and enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and Europe with Barbara. In addition to assisting Towers residents with computer problems, visiting his children and grandchildren, and playing golf, Mack enjoyed researching his Scottish ancestry and rooting for the Spurs. He loved the arts, attending theater, light opera and the symphony with Barbara. While working in Houston, Mack served for three years on the Theater Under the Stars executive and long range planning committees. He was honored as the first recipient of the Gary D. Bearden Award bestowed by the Business Volunteers for the Arts for his assistance with computerization and programming material, fundraising, and the founding of a new volunteer group for TUTS. Growing up, Mack loved his horses and his model airplanes. If not for poor eyesight, he would have pursued a career as a pilot. retirement, he flew all over the world on his computer flight simulator. Mack joined the Methodist Church at the age of 12, and served as head of the youth fellowship at his church. Over the years, he was a school teacher, treasurer, president and superintendent. At the time of his death, he and Barbara were members of the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Sr., Gladys, and Mary Claude Gay; infant sister, Beverly Jan Gay; and infant son, David Benjamin Gay. Mack is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara, of San Antonio; children, Patricia Westfall and husband Lynn of San Antonio; Rebecca Eberth and husband Ed of Glendale, Arizona; grandchildren Sara Westfall, Brian Westfall and Drew Eberth. He is also survived by brothers Woody Bays and wife Liz of Denton; David Bays of Ft. Worth; and Jim Bays and wife Sam of Bentleyville, Ohio; sister-in-law Sammy Taylor of Angleton, Texas; cousin Dan Bruce and wife Connie of Montgomery, Texas; and by his nephews and nieces.

Obituary: Gay, Loyd, 67 of Grand Prairie, Texas passed peacefully on , 03, 2014 in Grand Prairie, Texas. Loyd was born 28, 1947 in Brownfield, Texas, the fifth of nine children to Herbert Cleveland Gay and Edith Mary Madewell, Gay, whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Frances Gay, his children, Melissa Gallagher and her husband, Todd, Susan Taylor and her husband, Darrin, Robert Merritt, and Shannon Poarch and her husband, Jimmy. Siblings are H.D. Gay, Doreen Romines, Roy Gay, Faye Burton, Ella Thomason, Lorene Ballard and preceded in death by brothers Troy Gay, and Lymon Gay. Survived by, nine grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren. Loyd Gay was a wonderful, loving, family man. He was also a loyal friend. He treasured his beloved animals and enjoyed time in his gardens. Loyd Gay will be greatly missed and memories will remain cherished. Memorial service will be , 7, 2014, 11:00 AM \ 2:00 PM at McFalls Park (Cottonwood Park) 1501 S Carrier Pkwy, Grand Prairie, Texas 75051 followed by a military recognition ceremony at Dallas-Fort Worth National ?2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, ?Dallas, TX 75211 at 3:30PM.
