Obituary: Emma Flores was born on 18th, 1920 in Mission, Texas. She was the daughter of Juanita Escobar and Antonio Flores. She was one of 11 siblings born to Juanita and Antonio. She was the 5th daughter and 8th child of the Flores family. The four brothers were Ernesto, Erasmo, Tony and Arturo. The seven sisters were Lucia, Elvira, Lillia, Esther, Emma, Emilia and Angela. As a result of this large family, the two sons of Leo and Emma Galindo had many cousins, too many to even remember! Antonio was a barber who died of a heart attack when Emma was a teenager. Juanita lived into her eighties and passed away in 1969. In 1939, Emma graduated from Mission High School, made famous at a later date because Tom Landry graduated from there in 1941. Emma continued her education and graduated from a combination of course work from Southwest Texas State (Now Texas State) and the Texas of Arts and Industries in 1946 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She went on to teach for a few years after meeting Desiderio Leo Galindo from San Antonio, who she married on 11th, 1947. On 16, 1949, Denis Leo Galindo was born to Emma and Leo. On 11, 1952, there second son Jonathan (Joe) was born. As Leo was serving in the military, they resided in Atlanta, Temple, Tulsa and then settled in San Antonio in 1958. As Leo became the Chief Pathologist for the Robert B. Green hospital, it was there that Emma settled in as CHO (Chief maker Officer) for the next twelve years until both Denis and Joe graduated from high school. Extremely dedicated to her family, and to her two sons, she was the consummate sports mom. She attended all of their games, very often keeping stats on Denis and Joe, tracking how many points they had in their basketball games. She was relentless in loving and serving her family, always bringing organization and order to everything going on. There was no question that she was regularly on a mission in all that she did. Around 1971, Emma began a whole new adventure with God, and came to a point where she said that she was born again. She never turned back from that point as she began a journey with Jesus Christ for the next 46 years. Leo joined her on that faith journey which they enjoyed together for 30 years until he passed away on 27, 2001. In of 1987, they celebrated 40 years of marriage at a special anniversary service at their church in San Antonio. In the summer of 1997, they celebrated 50 years of marriage before a large gathering of family and friends. She was loved by many as she generously gave of her time and her energy to her family, her friends, and the people she regularly encountered through the years. When encountering a stranger, it was only a matter of time that the stranger became a friend to Emma. In these last few years, she often said: Im ready to go! I don know why the Lord still has me here! On night, 4th, 2017, Emma entered into the presence of the Lord where she longed to be. Today, we can be confident that Emma Flores Galindo is with the Lord Jesus her Savior whom she loved so much. |

Obituary: Emma Sanchez Galindo, 82, of Houston, TX passed away peacefully in her home on , 2, 2015. Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Momo spent over 60 years of her life building and raising her family. Her inner strength and her generous spirit were unmatched, and pride for her family radiated from within her. She overcame every obstacle she faced, from losing her husband of 45 years to winning her battle against breast cancer. She was a survivor who never let the difficult times get the best of her. Momo loved to have a good time playing Bingo, Bunco, and traveling with her sisters retired teachers group. Emma is preceded in death by her husband Ezequiel Tony Galindo, her sisters Otillia Crosby and Tommie Martinez, and her brothers Jessie and Eddie Sanchez. She is survived by her siblings Mary Gonzalez and Rudy (Angie) Sanchez; her children Tony (Judy) Galindo, Raymond Galindo, Mary Belinda (Glen) Love, Gilbert Galindo, and Roland (Tanya) Galindo; daughters-in-law Gaile Anciano and Connie Galindo; her grandchildren Chris Galindo, Ryan Galindo, Lee (Brenda) Galindo, Krystal (Erik) Love-Hoyer, Marcella Galindo, Melissa (Robert) Birdsall, Brent (Jennifer) Love, Dustin (Eryn) Galindo, Joey (Yessenia) Galindo, Chris au, Nicolas Galindo, Ava Galindo, and Madalyn Galindo; her 11 great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandson. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm, , 9, 2015 at Pat H. Foley & with Rosary at 7pm. services will be held at 10 am, , , 10, 2015, also at Pat H. Foley & with a light-fare reception.
