Charles Myrtle Houston Gales, born on 3, 1925 in Bastrop, Texas to the late Lela B. Jones Houston and Charlie Lee Houston, both of which preceded her in death, also one grandson Melvin G. Morgan and one brother Al Green who preceded her in death. She united with the Mt. Rose Baptist Church of Bastrop, Texas at a early age, where she was a active member of the choir. She also received her education at Emile High School in Bastrop, Texas. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Earlie Gales, who also preceded her in death.

She later united with the Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Mason Hardy Sr. she was a faithful member until her health failed, when she passed away she was still a member and the mother of the church, now under the leadership of Pastor Jarred B. Morgan Sr. She is survived by two daughters, Ruby J. Curry of Dallas, Texas and Virttie M. Benford of Dallas, Texas. A special daughter Lottie Hopkins of Dallas, Texas, eight grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
