Obituary: services for Jerry Paul Girdner will be held on , 14th, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Ross Wolfe officiating. Visitation will be held on , 13th, 2017 from noon until 6:00 Pm at Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will be held at Hungry Mountain near Stilwell, OK. Honorary pallbearers include Jackie Holloway, Paul Holloway, Herb McGee, Terry Thompson, John Stanley, Tim Johnson, and Danny Brannon. Jerry Paul Girdner was born on 22nd, 1947 in Welling, OK, the son of John and Rachel (Cricket) Girdner. He grew up in the Hungry Mountain Community with nine brothers and sisters. He attended school then decided to serve his country during the Vietnam Conflict as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, and served honorably for 8 years until he returned home. He met and married the love of his life and his best friend, Brenda Gayle Holloway on 22nd, 1985 in Fayetteville, AR. Jerry made his living in the construction industry. He worked hard and rewarded himself with horses, he was passionate about them. He also enjoyed raising chickens. Jerry enjoyed watching professional boxing and any chance to share a cup of coffee and a little talk with his many friends. He was so very proud of his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them when he had the chance. A Christian by faith, Jerry was a Baptist. His health began to fail him, but that never stopped Jerry from enjoying a beautiful morning. He passed from this life on 10th, 2017 in Muskogee, OK with his loved ones by his side. Jerry was 70 years old. He leaves a lot of family and friends who will never forget this kind hearted and fun loving man. Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, father, a baby sister Rachel, a baby brother Gerald, his eldest brother Harold, his oldest sister Sadie Long and his youngest sister Patty D. Thompson, and one niece, Kendra Dawn Girdner. Those left to celebrate Jerrys life include his wife, Brenda of the home, and his great granddaughter, Trinity Blackbird also of the home in Tahlequah. He leaves two sisters, Betty Cole of Tahlequah, Rita Wolf and husband Sampson of Stilwell, and two brothers, Bill John Girdner and wife Lei Lani of Stilwell and Dale Lynn Girdner and wife Mary also of Stilwell. His step children include Mona and Bart Wolf, David Tidwell, Cliff and Regina Tidwell, all of Tahlequah. He also leaves Christina Blevins of Dalles, OR, Jerry Paul Girdner Jr. and wife Tresa of Neosho, MO, Anthony Girdner and wife Jackie Sue of St. Louis, MO, Renia Marlin of Pryor, OK and Leslie Paul Girdner of Claremore. He lives on in his many grandchildren, Labreeska Gray of Tahlequah, Brianna Robbins of Bunch, Kelsey Jo Girdner of Tahlequah, Tesla Hart and Krysta Girdner of Neosho, MO, Jessica Randall and Jaime Marlin of TN, Sara Girdner of St. Louis, MO. Timothy Robbins of Bunch, Jarid and Joshua Girdner of Neosho, MO, James Girdner and Anthony Girdner both of ST. Louis, and Dylan and Dalton Marlin of Pryor, OK. His great grandchildren include Trevor Duncan and Flynn Duncan of Stilwell, OK, and Garrett Marlin of TN and Kyle Randall. He will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones. |

Alisha Girdner was born on 15, 1995 in Tahlequah, OK one of twin daughters to Arlie and Sarah (Cates) Girdner. She attended school at Tahlequah High School and was a Sophomore. Alisha was a loving and caring person. She loved spending any time she could caring for babies, and had hoped to be a pediatrician someday in her future. She loved to talk and text with her friends and relax while watching Sponge Bob and Phineus and Ferb. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family and was happy to tag along with her Dad on a road trip. She was blessed with a special sense of humor and was a friend to all who met her. Alisha received her angels wings on 26, 2010 at the age of fifteen years and eleven days. She will missed by so many, and always be in our hearts, and forever fifteen. Alisha is preceded in death by her Grandma Patsy Cates, Grandpa E.C. Cates, Uncle Harvey Butler, Grandpa Garlin Girdner, Uncle Admiral Girdner, Uncle J.J. Bickford and Aunt Lenora Bickford. Those left to cherish Alishas memory include her parents of the home, Arlie and Sarah Girdner. Obituary: Charles Merritt Girard, 67, of Tulsa, Dallas, and San Antonio, died on 18, 2012. Dr. Girard was born at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX, in 1944, during the latter half of World War II. His father was the late Percy Merritt Girard, MD, a pioneering Orthopedic Surgeon in Dallas, TX; originally from Lafayette, LA. His mother was the late Keith Juanita Simms, a Surgical Nurse in the US Army; originally from Minneola, TX. His paternal grandfather was the late Percy Michel Girard, MD, a general practitioner from Lafayette, LA. Dr. Girard grew up in Dallas, where he graduated from Hillcrest High School. His undergraduate education was at UT Austin, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon social fraternity. He earned his MD at the UT Science in San Antonio, a member of the first freshman class there. a Straight Surgery Internship at Wilford Hall USAF Medical , San Antonio, he served mainly as an Aviation Medical Specialist (Senior Flight Surgeon) for 7 years. a challenging year in Keflavik, Iceland, Dr. Girard was awarded the Air Force Flight Surgeon of the Year, 1978. From 1980 to 85, Dr. Girard completed Residencies in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at Wilford Hall, and a portion at Bexar Hospital. His final assignment before military retirement was in Wiesbaden Germany, USAF Hospital, near Frankfort. Tearing down the Berlin Wall (1989) and heavy support of the first Persian Gulf War patients (Desert Storm, 1991) were high points. Gods guidance through job search sent Dr. Girard to a Tulsa private practice, Radiology Consultants, mainly in support of Saint Francis Hospital. There he revitalized the Nuclear Medicine section and participated in developing body & extremity MRI imaging. Departing, he completed two years at Rhema Bible Training , majoring in Missions. He was previously born again in 1985 and received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1990. 6 years with Fishermens House Church, he rejoined Rhema Bible Church in 2010, and was active in the Altar Group, ministering Salvation, Rededication, and Infilling with the Holy Spirit at the end of Church Services. Dr. Girards largest secular interest was Aviation, having become a Private Pilot in 1965, and Instrument Rated in 1978. a 25 year hiatus, he resumed intermittent training with Alpha Aviation Mission Outreach . In sports, he loved and excelled in snow skiing. Dr. Girard is survived by his wife, Dr. Sundra Kaye (Rollins) Girard, EdD, Adjunct Professor; along with three of her children. Dr. Girard is also survived by two adult children from a former marriage, Matthew Merritt Girard, and Genae Michelle Girard, both of Lago Vista, TX, a suburb of Austin. Grandchildren, Ava and Gannon are from Matt and his wife Erika. Two younger brothers also survive him, John Eloi Girard, a banker in Dallas; and Edward Crow Girard, a nurse in Little Rock, along with one nephew and six nieces. Also surviving is first cousin Patricia (Trish) Sims Norman and husband John of Dallas, TX. Service will be at 2:00 PM at Sparkman-Hillcrest Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial . Family visitation will be at the funeral home 25, 2012 from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial offerings to scholarship funds at Rhema Bible Training , or Oral Roberts University, both in Tulsa. |
