A 1939 Graduate of St. ines Ruth was a long time member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in South Euclid and later St. Cyprians Catholic Church in Perry. She enjoyed making rosaries for the Armed Forces and she made cancer dressings at St. Margaret Mary. Ruth had a passion for crafting and enjoyed sewing and needlepoint. A wonderful sense of humor she enjoyed her role as Mother. Her church and her Faith were important in her life. She is survived by 2 Sons: Rick (Janice) Gibson and Ken (Margie) Gibson along with the Tillman and Rickey Cousins She was preceded in death by Her Parents Felix and Ora Rickey Her Husband John and her Brother Felix Jr. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9pm on , 21, 2012 at the Behm Family , 26 River Street, Madison, OHIO. Ruth Ann is survived by her sons, Craig (Chris) McSherry, Brian (Cindy) McSherry and Robert (Julie) Gibson; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Brant. She was an early role model to other women who entered into professions traditionally restricted to men. Ruth Anns career spanned membership on a small team who established the first Air Force computers in 1952 and concluded with her being the Director of the Programmers School at the Air Force Institute of Technology in the 60s. She enjoyed square dancing and all its pageantry as well as a fierce card game of duplicate bridge. Ruth Ann was also known not to back away from a good poker game. Obituary: Roy D. Gibson, 82, passed away evening, 11, 2015 at St. Joseph in Warren. Roy was born on 25, 1932 in Alexandria, Virginia the son of Ray Gibson and Stella Ada (Zinn) Gibson. He was a United States veteran, serving in the U.S Army during the Korean War at Fort Knox. While in the Army and during his younger years he enjoyed to box. Roy was a truck driver for over twenty six years. He started a Bible Study called New Believers in Christ. Roy loved to collect model trains, wood working, fishing, playing guitar, mandolin, keyboards, and accordions. He also loved to video tape and take photos of his family. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Stella (Carpenter) Gibson, whom he married on 7, 1958; seven children, Shirley A. Pine of Niles, Nancy (Don) Harney of Howland, LeRoy (Sherry) Gibson of Howland, Linda L. (James) Eckenrod of Howland, Nanette L. (Darion) Parish of Howland, Raymond D. Gilcher of WV, and Wanda Lou Cottrill of WV; twenty two grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren, and one brother, Ralph Gibson of Girard. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings, Esse, Jesse Edward, John, Wanda, Wanita, Jeb, Darlene, and Pea Jack. services for Roy will be held on 15, 2014 at 12:00PM at Lane Family s – Roberts – Clark Chapel in Warren. Family and friends may visit from 4-8:00PM on 14, 2014 and one hour prior to the service on at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Niles Union in Niles. |

Obituary: Robert Harrison Gibson was called home by the Lord after a short illness. Born 21st, 1921 in Bluefield, WV to the late Cecil and Cassie (Daniels) Gibson. He was the 2nd of 10 children born in their union. He moved to Akron in 1951. He was a faithful member of First Apostolic Church. Prior to his membership at First Apostolic Church, he was a faithful member of Baptist Church, where he served as Treasurer. He was drafted into the US Army 18, 1942 and served as Toolroom Keeper. On 1st, 1945, he was honorably discharged from the military service. On 15th, 1949 after a two-year courtship, Robert married the love of his life, Mildred (Lewis) Gibson. To this union, they were blessed with six children; Connie, Karen, Sharon, Robert II, Kenneth, Sherri and Stepson, Arthur Lewis Jr. He loved his family and had a gift of working with wood, building and remodeling. He enjoyed listening to music and Bar-B-cuing. In his early years, he was a Butcher by trade. relocating to Akron in 1951 he was employed Ravenna Arsenal and B.F. Goodrich. He later became a member of the Labor Union 894, and worked as a laborer, retiring after 30 years service. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, of 67 years, his children; Connie, Karen, (Carl), Sharon, Robert, II, (Lorraine), Kenneth, (Gwendolyn) and Sherri. 16 grand-children, 11 great grand-children, Brothers, Tony and Walter, sister-in-law; Jackie, extended children; Barry Brown, Toree, (Ken) Stokes, special friend, Nadradine Hill and a host of extended Great Grand-children, Nieces, Nephews and other loved ones and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; Cecil and Cassie Gibson, Stepson, Arthur Lewis, Jr., Grandson, Brian Arthur Walker, Brothers; William, Clarence, Eugene, Sisters; Ernestine Ross, Margaret Davis and Son-n-Law; Johnny Walker. |
