Obituary: John J. Getzy, Jr., age 84, of Madison, Ohio, passed away , 4, 2012 in Madison. He was born 10, 1927 in Fairport Harbor to Anna (Cservenyak) and John J. Getzy Sr. John married Beverly Sprague 28, 1961. He was a maintenance supervisor at Uniroyal and retired in 1992 after 41 years. He also enjoyed being a driver for Laketran and Kovachy. Johhn served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the Masonic Temple Lodge 28 in Painesville and a life member of the Lake Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed woodworking and a true handyman who could fix anything. He loved cooking, fishing, hunting, and most of all time spent in good conversation with his friends and family over a good meal. He is survived by, Wife, Beverly Getzy of Madison; Children, Debbie (Jim) Horton of Perry and their children Bryan (Katy), Katie, and Heather; John (Barb) Getzy of Madison and his children Jennifer, Jamie, Jessica, Allison, Ryan, and David; Theresa Brotzman of Madison and her children Allan, Juliana and Trevor; Andrew (Linda) Getzy of Perrysburg and daughter Emily; Todd Getzy of Mentor and daughter Layla; Donald (Sherri) Rudeski of Indiana and their children Lisa, Jennifer, and Katie; 13 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Ann Missal of Gates Mills. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen Kuchinski, and Mary Kamenar and Brothers, Michael and Andrew Getzy. Services are pending through the Behm Family in Madison and will be published soon. |

She was a bookkeeper & a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, the Wild Wicked Women in Western Hills of the Red Hatters, the Purple Dears, Women in Construction, Meals on Wheels Volunteers, Heartland Hospice Volunteers & the Allen House-Sunshine Acres Volunteers. She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert R. Getz, the devoted mother of Alfred Charles Schumann Jr. (Theresa), Joyce Ann Fehrman (Sam), Patricia Ann Schumann & Peggy Rae Doerman (Glenn), the loving grandmother of Alfred, Eric, Heather, Holly, Carrie, Adam, Teresa, Susan, David, Troy, Matthew, Erin, Megan & Tyler, the beloved daughter of the late David & Edna (nee Scofield) Helvey & the dear sister of the late Robert Helvey. She is also survived by 26 gr. grandchildren & 7 gr. gr. grandchildren. Visitation Mon., 27, 10 AM until time of service at 12 noon at the Dennis George , 44 S. Miami, Cleves. Obituary: Richard L. Dick Getz, age72, of Lordstown passed away on , 14, 2016. Born 5, 1944 in Warren, he was the son of Joseph and Ruth (Messersmith) Getz. Dick retired from Packard Electric after 30 years of service. He was an active member of the Lordstown Christian Church where he served as both a deacon and a trustee over the years. He was a member of the YBMW Club; he loved riding, working on, or anything else to do with motorcycles. He was avid Cleveland Indians fan. Dick was a kind, caring, and compassionate person who was deeply loved by his family and friends. Survivors include his son Stan (Cori) Getz of San Diego, CA.; grand-daughters Charlotte and Breana; a sister Loretta (Joe) Kovach of Lake Milton, two brothers Ray (Linda) Getz of MacDonald and Larry (Betty) Getz of Burnsville, NC.; and an aunt, Betty Smith of Hartford, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lordstown Christian Church, 6370 Tod Ave. SW, Warren, Ohio 44481 on , 30, 2016 at 11:00AM; where friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
