Obituary: Ruby Moma Ruby RuRu Eveline Gottschalk, 91, started her journey walking on streets of gold 20, 2016 at her home. She was born on 20, 1925 in Kingstree, S.C. Moma Ruby was a devoted Christian. She put God first in everything. RuRu was a loving mother and grandmother. Every time she walked in a room, everyone knew she was there and they could not miss her famous entrance IM HERE. She was a loyal long time member of Spring Hope O.F.W.B. Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Moma Ruby always had a smile on her face and a song on her lips. Our grandmother was a one of a kind lady that will be missed dearly. She is survived by her daughter Ruby Ann Collins and son William Billy Fordham and wife Kathy. She was blessed to have a very large family that she adored and loved with all her heart. RuRu had 10 grandchildren Tammy Nyberg, Jimmie Ann Murphy (Jerry), Pamela Walker (Don), Janet Rideout, Sandie McRoy (Chris), Barbara Blackman (DelRoy), Beverly McCollum (John), Angela Cortez, Jason Williams (Amy), Cynthia Propes (Roger); 35 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren. Moma Ruby was very proud that at almost every family gathering we had 5 generations present. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband William Popa Bill Gottschalk; 2 infant children; 1 grandson; her parents and a son-in-law she thought hung the moon Kirk Nyberg, Sr. Memorial service will be held at Spring Hope O.F.W.B. on , 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Spring Hope O.F.W.B. Obituary: Mr. Eugene GeneGottschalk, 92, of Greensboro, went to be with his Heavenly Father on , 1, 2015. services will be held at 2:00 pm on , 6, 2015 at Glenwood United Methodist Church, with Rev. Sarah Smith Pitts and Rev. Chris Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service in church sanctuary from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Gene was born 1, 1922 in Putnam, NC to the late William and Lydia Gottschalk and was a long-time member of Glenwood United Methodist Church. He retired from ITT Grinnell where he supervised nuclear pipe fabrication. Prior to ITT, he worked for W. H. Sullivan for many years. Gene served as Staff Sergeant in the United States Army, 28th Infantry Division during World War II in Northern France and Central Europe. He was an avid athlete, having played professional baseball as Pitcher for the Greensboro Patriots. Gene was charter member of Forest Oaks Country Club where he enjoyed decades of playing competitive golf with members as well as guests. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends throughout the southeast to play various golf courses and have fellowship together. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Foster Gottschalk; his brother, Garland Gottschalk; and his sister, Vera Gottschalk Gambrell. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Donna Ford and her husband Dennis of Greensboro; sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Glenwood United Methodist Church, 1417 Glenwood Ave., Greensboro, NC 27403. Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel has the honor of assisting the Gottschalk family. |

Obituary: COLUMBIA - Saul Perry Marvin Gottlieb was born on 26, 1930, in Philadelphia, PA and passed away on 8th, 2015 at Bermuda Commons and Rehabilitation in Advance, NC. Mr. Gottlieb was the son of the late Gussie and Joseph Gottlieb, brother of Dorothy Gottlieb Solomon, Uncle of Arthur S. Solomon of Charlotte, NC, Hilda and David Wajnberg of Atlanta, GA, Constance Schlosberg of Boynton Beach, FL and Great Uncle to Jeffrey Schlosberg of Hot Springs Village, AR and Great, Great Uncle to Dayton Schlosberg of Maine. Mr. Gottlieb was born unfortunately with cerebral palsy. In spite of this, he had many remarkable life achievements. He graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School in Raleigh, NC after his parents had moved to NC when he was a very young child. He then resided in Conway with his mother after his father passed. He previously lived at the Blumenthal in Clemmons, NC. He passed away while he was in Hospice at Bermuda Commons just two weeks short of his 85th birthday…remarkable as the doctors only expected to live to an early childhood age. Mr. Gottlieb brought joy to many people as he never knew a stranger and always made many friends. He learned to play piano and harmonica by ear and was amazing. his mother passed away, he lived with his sister Dorothy, her husband “Skeet” Ezel Solomon and family most of the time at Myrtle Beach, SC. He became well known as helper for the life guards and was given several awards for his services. Among them was a “lifeguard of the year” trophy. Saul became known as Mr. Myrtle Beach in the Cane Patch area of Myrtle Beach for all his kindness to people he met while walking the beach. Saul enjoyed a love of geography, maps and travel and the love of fine foods. On 8th, at 1 PM, one of the life guards (Chad Addington) from those prior years stopped by our family home still at Myrtle Beach and inquired if Saul still lived there. Arthur spoke with him at length, reminiscing about those wonderful years he remembered with Saul. Highly unusual as this was the very day that several hours later Saul passed away. Saul surely will be missed by his family and all who knew him. He touched our souls and our lives forever. Graveside services will be held on , 11, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Hebrew Benevolent Society, 720 Blanding St, Columbia, SC 29201. Obituary: Murray Gott of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Boynton Beach, FL and Staten Island, NY, died , 13, 2017. Murray was a veteran of the US Air Force and then went on to become a dentist in Staten Island, where he enjoyed a successful practice for 30 years. During that time, he dedicated a great deal of his time to the Second District Dental Society of NY, an organization that represented dentists in Brooklyn and Staten Island. In 1982, he served as President of this district and brought his expertise in the field to the Greater New York Dental meeting, one of the largest and most prestigious meetings in the nation. When Murray retired from dentistry, he moved to Boynton Beach, FL where he continued to be an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling the world. He also loved going out to dinner and the movies, and spending time with friends and family. Murray is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Susan Gott; sister, Janice White of Larkspur, CA; son, Kenneth Gott and his wife, Edythe of Wake Forest, NC; daughter, Karen Joyce and her husband, Matthew of Medfield, MA. He was a loving grandfather to Sarah, Emily, Rachel, Jessica, and Amy, all of Wake Forest, and Ashley and Thomas of Medfield. services will be held at 2pm on , 18th at Virginia Veterans at Amelia.
