Obituary: Dale Weston Gordon, born 10, 1929 in Victor, Idaho, died 24, 2015 peacefully at home, with his wife by his side. The son of the late Daniel and Bessie Orgill Gordon, Dale was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Christensian and three brothers, Harry, Eli and Ray. Dale is survived by Brenda Lowman Gordon, his loving wife of 26-1/2 years. He loved and was loved by his children, Mark Ray Gordon, Louise Taylor (Ray), Debbie Decicio (Randy), Fawn Anderson (Larry) and Tamara Gordon, born during his marriage to Javene Smith. His children gave him eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. At the time of his marriage to Brenda, he lovingly embraced (and was embraced by) Brendas children (who called him Pop or Papa Bear): Anita Thomas Cook (Chris) and Rick Thomas (Crystal). At the time of Christophers birth, he and Brenda were dating, not yet married; however, at Anitas request, he returned to work after a full shift to administer her anesthesia. Christopher is now 26, but Dale reminded us many times over the years, that since he administered the anesthesia, got him breathing quickly, he is responsible for Christophers intelligence. Later after their marriage, two granddaughters were added: Sallie Cook (who adored him and who was equally adored) and Ava Thomas (who he lovingly called his chatterbox). Dale is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who love him dearly. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was baptized when he was 8 years old. He had a great love for his Savior Jesus Christ and remained faithful for his entire life. When he was 19 he was called to serve a 2 year mission in the California Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. his mission he served 4 years in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Teton High School with the Class of 1948; then attended Ricks , Rexburg, Idaho, graduating in 1963 with his nursing degree. (The only male in a Class of 22.) He graduated from St. Michaels Hospital, School of Anesthesiology of North Dakota, in 1966. Over the course of his CRNA career, he worked at St. Josephs Hospital, Lewiston, Idaho, Tri-State Hospital, Clarkston, Washington, and retired from Catawba Memorial Hospital, Hickory NC, in 1995. his retirement he served in the Atlanta, Georgia Temple on a weekly basis. Later, after the Columbia Temple was built, he served there. He enjoyed working in his garden and sharing the fruits of his labor with many friends and family members. He restored a number of John Deere Tractors, including one he brought to Hildebran from the Idaho family farm. He was the go to guy if someone was having trouble with their John Deere. Our doorbell or telephone often rang with John Deere owners seeking advice or help with their tractors. Dale was an inspiration, a role model, and was loved by many. He loved and valued his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be continually missed, always loved, and never ever forgotten. A funeral service to honor Mr. Gordons life will be held , 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Heritage Service with Bishop Alan Austin officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the United States Air Force, will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends , 30, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
