Obituary: Angel Ann Garner 47, passed away , 12, 2016 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC surrounded by her family. services will be held 1:00 pm, , 17, 2016 at Needhams Grove Baptist Church, with the Reverend DJ Harry and Reverend Billy Joe Brady officiating, burial will follow in the church cemetery. Angel was a graduate of North Moore High School and Randolph Community , with an Associate Degree in Business. She loved life and embraced every minute. Angel was a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother. She loved her family, especially her two children, spending time with them was very important. Angel shared a smile and was always caring for others. Her giving spirit was evident even on her job as a shift leader, looking after her employees. She took pride in caring for her family and home. Mom described her as her “Angel sent from Heaven.” Angel is survived by husband: Nathan; daughter: Courtney, of the home; son: Cody Garner, of Seven Lakes; parents: Michael and Patricia Brady; brother Mikie Brady and wife Melissa; sister: Kristy Richardson; niece: Laurin; nephew: Gavin; and a host of friends. Obituary: William (Bill) Martin Garmon, 85, of Cary, NC, passed away on 2, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. He will always be remembered as a loving husband and father, a proud grandfather, a good friend, a dedicated community leader, a hard-worker and a die-hard Wolfpack fan. Bill was always intensely curious and interested in people, their backgrounds, and where they were from, and made connections and new friends everywhere. Bill was born on 9, 1929, in Concord, NC, to the late Hubert T. and Minnie Litaker Garmon. He was the first of his family to attend college, graduating first from NC State University, and then receiving his M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Clemson University. Bill served his country in the US Army at Fort Jackson, SC. Following his military service and education, Bill began work with the NC State Extension Service, where he worked with 4-H leaders and youth for 32 years until his retirement. To honor his love of NC State, he and his wife Martha recently established a Caldwell Alumni Scholarship Endowment in their name, to benefit deserving students in the of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cary for more than 50 years. He served on the Cary Town Council for 16 years, and was a member of the Triangle J Council of Government. Bill was honored when the Town of Cary Operations was named the William M. Garmon Building in his honor. Bill was chairman of the NC Safety Council for 8 years, and was a key contributor to the Operation Lifesaver program to improve railroad safety in NC. He was a member of the Cary Rotary Club for 40 years, and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Bill was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine by then Governor Bob Scott, an award that is presented to outstanding North Carolinians who have a proven record of service to the State. William is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha Martin Garmon; daughter Lynn Garmon Ryan (Bill) of Cincinnati, OH; son William Martin (Marty) Garmon, Jr.; and granddaughters Devin and Erin Ryan. Visitation will be on , 6 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Brown-Wynne in Cary. The funeral service will be held on , 7 at 2 pm at First United Methodist Church in Cary. A private burial for family and friends will follow at Hillcrest . Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Cary as Memorial Fund - William M. Garmon. |

Obituary: Mark Garmon 1944-2017 Gastonia – Mark Wayne Garmon, 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep on 12, 2017 at Carolina Continued Hospital. Mark was born in Gaston on 26, 1944 to the late Marquette J. and Elizabeth Flora Dye Garmon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Shelby Jean Johnson, Francis Lewis and Ernestine Bolynn; brothers, John M. Garmon and Parks Garmon. Mark was a kind and loving soul who loved people! He could express his love with a look, with a smile or with a squeeze. He could even express love by showing who he felt comfortable in his surroundings because he trusted hed be cared for. Love isn only shared through words. Love is much deeper than words. Mark showed us that every time you where around him! He helped teach us about our own strengths and gifts in this way. He also taught us how to be happy because he took joy in simple things – joy in seeing his family and joy in fellowship of his caregivers. Mark will be greatly missed by all who loved him! Left to cherish his memories include his special nephew, Jerry Garmon and wife Robin; nieces and nephews, Johnny Garmon, Parks Garmon, Jr., Irvin Garmon, Tina Kishpaugh, Danny Bolynn, Ronald Garmon, Susan Thomas and Brenda Gibson; many numerous great nieces and great nephews; special care giver, Angela Anderson and staff of Wooding Place, Oak Grove, NC The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 pm, , 14th at Withers & Whisenant .
