Obituary: Gilroy, Ester Mae Of Spring Arbor, MI was born on 5, 1918 to Andrew Howison and Eleanor Teeple Howison. Our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother died on , 7, 2016 at the age of 97. Mother is survived by her sons, Gerald L. Gilroy (JayAnne) and Harris L. Gilroy (Betty) and daughter-in-law, SueAnne Gilroy. Grandchildren: Brandon L. Gilroy (Tammy), Kelly M. Rupert (Jon), Grant H. Gilroy (Andrea), Genesis M. Gilroy, Patrick T. Reid (Brooke), Jennifer L. Rule (Eric) and Robert L. Reid (Amy). Esther is also survived by twenty great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Howison (LaVerne) as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Harris Lyle Gilroy, after 59 years of marriage; son, Richard D. Gilroy and granddaughters, Emily K. Gilroy and Riley Faith Rule. Sisters and brothers; Oleta Milks (Howard), Eleanor Finch (Alfred), Edgar Howison (Ann) and Irma Jane Curtis (R.G.) Esther was also preceded in death by her long-time friend, Beth Voller. Esther was born in Port Huron, MI and met her husband, Harris Lyle Gilroy, at Spring Arbor High School. Throughout his years with Ford Motor , they lived in Port Huron, MI; Dearborn, MI; Lima, Ohio; Port Elizabeth, South Africa; San Juan, Puerto Rico and Indianapolis, IN; spending the last 43 years of their life in Spring Arbor, MI. Esthers primary focus in life was to serve her Lord, Jesus Christ. All her activities centered round the Womens Missionary Society, Christian womens groups, bible study groups, etc. wherever she lived. Mother also started one of the most successful fund-raisers in the Church 40 years ago. She supported many children all over the world through her fervent love of missions. The last 43 years in Spring Arbor she also served her community by opening up her home to friends, missionaries and numerous young college-age women at Spring Arbor University as their house mother. Those who knew Mom well will readily admit that Mom rarely missed an event at the Church or University. A special thank you from the family to Lloyd and Judy Ganton for providing care for Mother in her final days and to her cousin, Chuck Fisher, college daughter, Marilyn Wilson and long -time friend, Editha Rogers, for their unending care of Mother in her final years. Memorial services will be performed by Pastor Mark VanValin at Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church in Spring Arbor on , 11, 2016 at 11:00am. Visitation will precede this service from 9:00am to 11:00am at the Church. Our family is being served by Watson Chapel. Obituary: Paula Jean (Fisher) Gilmour, 73, passed into eternal life on , 16, 2015. Jean was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend. She enjoyed the simple things in life, a cup of hot tea, flowers, some dirt on her hands and time spent with her grandchildren. Jean developed many special friendships through her work at The Sew and Sew Shop in Jackson and at her favorite diner; The 115 Restaurant. Jean enjoyed time at the casino and time with a fishing pole in her hand. She is survived by her son, Steve (Sheila Kennedy) Rolston of Michigan , her daughter Victoria Cain (Todd) Leedom of Marysville, PA., her grandchildren; Andrew Cain, Nicholas Cain, Steven Cain, Aubrey Rolston, Anthony Rolston, Brendan Rolston and Madelyn Rolston, brothers; Alvin Fisher of Trinity, FL and Frank Fisher of Firestone, CO, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Paula Fisher and her husband Jim Gilmour. Services to celebrate the life of Jean Gilmour will be held at the J Kevin Tidd , 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI on , 23rd at 1pm with Pastor Jeff Crowder officiating.
