Obituary: Waterville - Gerald J. Giroux, 76 of Vassalboro, Maine passed away on , 29, 2014 at Inland Hospital with his loving family by his side. Gerald was born in Waterville, Maine on 8, 1938, a son of Charles and Rosa (Bolduc) Giroux. He was educated in local schools graduating from Winslow High School in 1957. On 15, 1961 he married the love of his life, Elena Pelotte, and together they raised their three daughters. He lived in Clinton, Winslow and retired in Vassalboro. Gerald worked as a patrolman for the Winslow Police Department and then served the Kennebec Sheriff's Office as a reserve officer. He later worked in sales of various kinds from selling cars to clothing to plumbing. He enjoyed his jobs, but mostly the police department and even after retirement he would always go on ride alongs. Police work was his passion. Gerald was a great woodworker spending many hours making various items around the house. He was very crafty in this regard. Other than his beloved wife of 53 years, Elena, his best friends were his dog, Lady, and his cat, Peanut. He loved to go camping with his daughters and his dog. Gerald was a great trumpet player, playing for various bands including the Chez Perezz and Al Corey's Big Band. His favorite color was blue which was reflected by most all aspects of his daily life. Gerald is survived by his wife Elena, daughters, Shelley and husband Craig Coro of Winslow; Kathy Violette of Winslow, as well as Debbie Dickey and significant other Carl Raven, II of Skowhegan. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, all of whom it was very proud of, Elizabeth Violette of Winslow; Nicholas Dickey of Waterville and Eric Chamberlain of Waterville, his mother-in-law Marie Pelotte as well as several neices and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by his parents Charles and Rosa Giroux, sister and brother-in-law Geraldine and Robert Bouchard; his father-in-law Adelard Pelotte and his middle grandson Joseph W. Violette, III. Visitation for Gerald will be held on from 4-7 pm at the Veilleux . A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on , 4 at 9 am at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Obituary: Waterville - Elena M. Giroux, 73 of Vassalboro, Maine passed away on , May 2, 2015 at Inland Hospital with her loving family by her side. Elena was born in Waterville, Maine 28, 1942, the daughter of Adelard and Marie (Hebert) Pelotte. She was educated in local schools graduating from Winslow High School. On 15, 1961 she married the live of her life, Gerald J. Giroux and together they raised three daughters, Shelley Coro and her husband Craig of Winslow; Kathy Violette of Winslow; and Deborah Dickey and her significant other of Skowhegan. She lived in Clinton, Winslow and retired in Vassalboro. Elena worked as a secretary for 25 plus year at Maine Biological Labs as well as Northeast Laboratories in Winslow. She was also employed by Tilcon Construction. She enjoyed secretarial work and was very organize. Elena enjoyed following Nascar with her favorite driver being Jamie McMurray. She enjoyed camping and backyard fires. She loved animals, especially her cat "Peanut". Elena is survived by her mother, Marie Pelotte, of Winslow; her three daughters as named earlier. She also leaved behind three grandchildren; Elizabeth Violette of Winslow; Nicholas Dickey of Waterville and Eric Chamberlain of Waterville and a bother Tom Pelotte. Elena was predeceased by her husband Gerald, her father Adelard Pelotte and her middle grandson, Joseph W. Violette II. Visitation for Elena will be held , May 5, 2015 from 4-6 at Veilleux in Waterville. Obituary: LEWISTON - Roger A. Girouard, 78, of Lewiston, passed away at Central Maine Medical in Lewiston on , May 29, surrounded by his loving family.He was born in Lewiston on 8, 1938, a son of the late Alcide and Mariette (Ouellette) Girouard. He lived in Lewiston his entire life attending local schools and graduating from Lewiston High School. He then attended Central Maine Vocational School in Auburn, taking courses in the electrical field and as a machinist. On 7, 1964, he married the love of his life, Jeannine Duchette at St. Mary's Church in Lewiston. Together they worked and raised their three children in this community. Roger was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Holy Cross Church. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, bowling and working Beano games at St. Mary's Parish Hall. Most of all, he enjoyed being involved in his many family events. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was well-liked by all who grew to know him. Roger is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Jeannine; one son, Paul Girouard and wife, Lisa, of Lewiston; two daughters, Ann Marie Berube and husband, Raymond, of Lewiston, and Nancy Girouard-Holt and husband, Jeff, of Lewiston; nine grandchildren: Meghan, Makayla, Heather, Keith, Kelly, Jake, Michael, Samantha and Anthony; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Rita Wilson and companion, Ron Riggs, of Kansas; a brother, Rene Girouard and wife, Vicky, of Connecticut; and several in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Leo and Henry Girouard; and two sisters, Connie Michelle and Irene Henry. Obituary: Westbrook- Raymond Joseph Girouard, 88, of Duck Pond Road, passed away surrounded by his family, on 19, 2017 following a brief illness. He was born in Fitchburg, MA, a son of Hector and Alma (Legere) Girouard. He attended catholic schools in Fitchburg before moving to Maine in 1942 and attending Westbrook High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1946 and served In Japan, while keeping in touch with the love of his life, Yvette Tanguay, whom he met before enlisting. later married in 1949. Music was a big part of Raymond's life. At the age of 13, he competed and won a fiddle contest, allowing him to play for numerous crowds along the coast of Massachusetts and Maine. Although very humble about his musical talent, Raymond was an extraordinary guitar player. He played with the Lee Russell Big Band on the pier in Old Orchard Beach and played with numerous bands throughout his life. He appeared on the Ken Mackenzie show several times and played with famous artists such as Dick Curless, Dicky Monroe, and many other talented musicians. He also played for Betty Davis and her husband on a few occasions. Raymond also entertained his fellow Army buddies with Boogie -Woogie swinging music on the piano. His talents didn't stop there, he loved drawing cartoon characters for children at the schools where he worked and for his grandchildren. Raymond dedicated his life to his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He used to enjoy spending time with his family at his brother's camp and enjoyed spending all his free time with his children. He was known to his grandchildren as Pepere and to his great-grandchildren as Pepere Downstairs. He would spend hours with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren swinging, singing songs, and watching movies. Raymond had the patience of a saint and loved everyone. One of his favorite past times was driving out to Huot's Restaurant with his wife. Raymond worked at Dana Warp Mill, St. Hyacinth's Parish, and his last 30 years before retirement at The Westbrook School Department. He made many special friends in his years at the school department whom he held near and dear to his heart even after retirement. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Rev. Robert Girouard. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Yvette C. Girouard of Westbrook; his children, Anne M. Leroux and her husband Dale of Westbrook; Robert J. Girouard of Windham; grandchildren, Amanda Lane and her husband Ryan of Gorham, Diana Mayo and her husband Joseph of Windham, Leah Girouard of Windham; great-grandchildren, Lucas & Evan Lane, Benjamin Mayo; brother, Emery Girouard and his wife Sylvia of Westbrook. His wife and family had been by his side throughout his illness up to the moment he left us to be reunited with his son Andrew in heaven. He was born in Lewiston, 12, 1936 the only surviving child of the late Laureat and Rosa Cote Girardin, having lost his siblings in their infancy. He was educated in Lewiston schools and served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was married to Madeleine Grenier May 30, 1960 and together they had 6 children.Bob was employed as a lithographer retiring from JS McCarthy after years of dedication.He was multitalented and the limits of paper can not capture his true essence. He loved Gods creations from bog water microscopic bugs to the rings of Saturn viewed through his own telescope. He was a true outdoorsman loving fishing, mountain climbing and especially boating having captained his own vessel The Heron II out of Harpswell for many years. He was a founding member of the Auburn Rifle Club having built the existing range. He set many records as a marksman and continued to shoot regularly, still casting and reloading his own ammunition. He was a gardener, tennis player, scuba diver, carpenter, electrician, plumber having mastered many trades. He was a very humble man with a great sense of wit and humor.He is survived by his wife of 50 years Madeleine of Lewiston; five children, LuAnn and husband Tony Labbe, Michael Girardin and Barbara Girardin, daughter-in-law Joni Girardin of North Carolina, Jennifer and husband Dan Perry of Hallowell, Valerie and husband Mike Racine and Gregory Girardin of Nashua, NH.
