Obituary: Truman D. Goff was born in Big Point, Mississippi, on 17, 1929, and died , 4, 2011, at a local hospital. Mr. Goff was preceded in death by his parents Ollie E. and Idell C. Goff and sisters Esther Young, Ruth Rockwell, Myrtis Gooch and brothers Donald Goff and Archie Goff. He is survived by his wife Norma Rae Langley Goff; sons Randall T. (Sharon), Alan D. (Cathy), and Scott B. (Rosaland); six grandchildren Joshua, Jacob, Christian, Danielle, Kaylan, Heather; and one great grandchild Dalton. Mr. Goff is also survived by nieces, nephews and many cherished friends. Mr. Goff was a veteran of the Korean War, having spent five years in the U.S. Navy. He retired as the construction/manager for BellSouth Telephone after 36 years of employment. Mr. Goff was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a loyal friend to many. He was a longtime member of Moffett Road Baptist Church. Obituary: Miss Mary Margaret Peggy Goff - a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died , 30, 2011 in a local health care facility. Miss Goff was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She was a 1944 graduate of Bishop Toolen High School and graduated from Webster in St. Louis, MO in 1948. She earned her teaching certification from the University of Alabama and her Masters in Education from the University of South Alabama. Miss Goff retired from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School after 46 years of service having served as teacher, coach, assistant principal, and counselor. She was inducted into the McGill-Toolen Hall of Fame in 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Joseph and Martha Ellen Mitchell Goff; two brothers, Michael Joseph Goff, Jr. and Lawrence Vincent Goff, Sr.; and two sisters, Dorothy Taylor and Catherine Louise Johnson. Miss Goff is survived by her brothers and sisters, William Edward Billy Goff, Sr., Thomas Alphonse Tommy (Lois) Goff, Sr., Elizabeth Ann Betty (Richard) Wampler, Martha Patricia Pat (John) Wilcox, Agnes Rosalie (Phil) Hrabar, Judith Elaine (Michael) Courtney, Charles Richard (Martha) Goff, Sr., Joan Cecelia (E.T.) Rolison, Marilyn Theresa (Ellis) Courtney, and Mitchell James Mickey (Diane) Goff, Sr.; her dearest friend, Melgwin Miller; one sister-in-law, Jane Goff; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Obituary: Marie Wilhite Bergin Goff Services for Marie Wilhite Bergin Goff, 93, will be at 4 p.m. , 11, 2015, at Moss Service , with visitation from 2 to 4 p.m., Revs. David Palmer and Kevin Wilburn officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion . Mrs. Goff left her earthly residence to her heavenly residence , 8. She was originally from Vinemont and was a veteran who served in the military from 1941-1943 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. From 1952-1964, she worked as a reporter, columnist, photographer, feature writer, editor of Womens pages, office manager, and accountant for The Cullman Times newspaper. She received her college degree in English from St. Bernard in 1961, and she received her masters degree in journalism from the University of Alabama in 1969. obtaining her degrees, her career included begin an English teacher at Cullman High School, Director of Public Relations and Journalism at Sacred Heart , Director of Public Relations at Mobile , and Associate Director of Public Relations and Director of Publications at Columbus in Columbus, Georgia. Marie then moved to Snellville, Georgia, where she and her husband were founding members of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Marie was active in her church as an elder, teaching an adult School class and doing whatever she was called upon to do. She was active in the American Legion Post where she served in many capacities. She wrote and edited newsletters and served as a member of many boards and committees. She was a senior columnist for the Gwinnett Daily Post. She also served as president of the Board of Directors of the Gwinnett Council for Seniors. Following a decline in her health, Marie returned to Cullman in 2010 with a lifetime of hard work, accomplishments and memories. Marie was predeceased by her parents, C.H. and Zella Wilhite; her husband, Steve Goff; and her sister, Frances (Dutch) Nearen. She is survived by her daughter, Rita (Dr. John) Nielsen; granddaughter, Susan (Bryan) Bowen; grandson, Jason Nielsen; great-grandsons, Carter, Cooper and Cross Bowen; sisters, Maybel (Arthur) Apel, Frieda (Don) Perry, Dot (Charles) Duke and Joan (Frank) Duke; a brother, Larry (Gladys) Wilhite; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family of Marie would especially like to thank Dr. Mike Hall, his nurse, Paulette Trimble, and Tracy Kimbrough of CRMC Hospice for their tender care.
