Obituary: Wilma Lee Warton Gee Cox Bastrop, Louisiana Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Lee Warton Gee will be held on , 7, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bonita in Bonita, Louisiana under the direction of Cox of Bastrop. Mrs. Gees grandson, Bro. Kevin McDaniel, will officiate the services. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on , 6th, at Cox of Bastrop. Wilma Lee Warton Gee was born on 22, 1927 in Cheneyville, Louisiana to the late Lee William Warton and Annie Mae Maddox Warton. She passed away peacefully from this Earth on morning 5, 2015 at her residence in Collinston, Louisiana. During the spring of 1927 the great flood forced Mrs. Gees family to move from Cheneyville to Morehouse Parish. She was raised east of Mer Rouge and Oak Ridge on the Bonne Idee and Horseshoe Lake. At an early age she began working in the fields, with her family, for Dr. Clark. In 1945 she married Lester Stamps and together they had two children, Linda Gail and Mary Ann. Lesters death she married Suey Fong Gee in 1957 and they had two children, Anita Sue and William Fong. She also became the step-mother to Harry Gee. During the 1950s Ms. Wilma and Mr. Suey operated Gees Place Cafe in Bonita, Louisiana. Sueys stroke in 1977, Wilma was not only a mother she also became the head of the household. To provide for her family, she also began her employment for the Morehouse Parish Schools as a food service worker at Bonita Elementary and later at Delta High School. Always the nurturing one, Mrs. Gee enjoyed cooking for several generations of her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Gee is preceded in death by her husbands, Lester Stamps and Suey Fong Gee; her parents; a daughter, Mary Ann Stamps Evans; grandson, Harry Gee, Jr.; five sisters, Bessie Mae Shuff, Katie Lee Warton, Blanche Warton Fontenot, Jewel Warton Smith, and Doris Capers; two brothers, Willard Warton and Dan Warton; and a brother-in-law, Fats Fong Gee. She is survived by her two daughters, Anita Sue Gee of Collinston, Louisiana and Linda Gail McDaniel of Bastrop, Louisiana; two sons, William Fong Gee of Collinston, Louisiana and Harry Gee of Bastrop, Louisiana. Mrs. Gee is also survived by a special son, Gene Wheeler of Collinston, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Cindy Edwards, Patrick McDaniel, Charlotte Patterson, Dillon Evans, Kevin McDaniel, Kim Lowden, and Eric Gee; thirteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Donnie Paxton, Bobby Fife, Daniel Fife, Mitch Stephens, Stephen Tubbs, Jeremiah Smith, and J.D. Smith. |
