Obituary: Warren Preston Guy, 90, of LaGrange, Georgia passed away on 2nd at Carl Vinson VA Medical in Dublin, GA. Mr. Guy was born in Tallassee, AL on 27, 1924, son of Hillery Jackson and Minnie Maybelle Brand Guy. He owned several trucks and worked in the transportation industry as a truck driver for over 50 years. In addition he operated 29 Highway Service Station on the Hogansville Road. He was a proud veteran of World War II where he served in General Patton's Third Army and fought bravely at The Battle of the Bulge. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, member of Long Cane Lodge #424 and was recently presented his 50 Year Apron. He was Baptist by faith and attended Teaver Road Baptist Church before moving to the Georgia War Veterans in Milledgeville, GA. He will be greatly missed by his children, Judy Guy Baker of LaGrange, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy & (Diane) Guy of Five Points, AL and Mr. & Mrs. (Joe) & Joan Rizzo of Douglasville, GA; his grandchildren, Mr. & Mrs. (Lance) & Kristy Morris, Mr. & Mrs. James & (Tory) Baker II, Mr. & Mrs. (Craig) & Samantha Gibson, Ashley Rizzo, Michael Rizzo, and Jenna Rizzo; great grandchildren, Hayley Morris, Guy Morris, Reed Morris, Juliana Baker. He is survived by a brother, Joe Guy of Newnan GA. Mr. Guy was preceded in death by his wife & sweetheart of 58 years, Brooksie Sears Guy and two infant sons, Jesse Wayne and Warren Preston Guy. Obituary: Mr. Troy Penland Guy, 82, died morning ( 26, 2015) at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Brantley and lived most of his life in Ware . He was the son of the late Lonnie Guy and Melissa Strickland Guy. Mr. Guy was a retired clerk after forty two (42) years with CSX railroad. He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church. His biggest passion in life was fishing. His family said He loved being on the water even if he didn catch a fish that day. Just a peaceful place to be. He loved, lived, ate and breathed fishing. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Shawn Walker, three brothers, James Guy, Edward Guy and Lyman Guy and four sisters, Lucille Guy, Mary Thrift, Carrie Thrift and Louise Allen. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Lou Hendrix Guy of Waycross; two daughters, Donna Lou Guy Davis of Brunswick and Lisa Guy Barnes (husband Phillip) of Waycross; two sons, Buddy Guy (wife Liz) of Blackshear and Danny Palmer (wife Kathy) of Swainsboro; four grandchildren, Jennifer Walker (husband Oliver) Gainesville, GA, Sarah Jones (husband Matt) of Waycross, Kyle Palmer (wife Jessica) of Texas and Kirk Palmer of Swainsboro; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces , nephews and other relatives. Obituary: Sarah McLeod Guy passed away 4, 2010. She was a resident of Athens for 56 years and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was born in Quitman, GA, 27, 1922, the daughter of Archie and Sally McLeod of Quitman and Thomasville, GA. Mrs. Guy served as the director of the Selective Service office in Athens, GA, in the 60s and until its closing in the 70s, and also worked with the Russell Research until retirement. She was a resident of Talmage Terrace in Athens for the past 10 years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, A.C. Guy, who died in 1981. Survivors include a son, Colonel Robert A. Guy (Jodie) of Athens, daughter Saranne Guy Smith (Barry) of Bogart, and daughter Cathy Guy Cofer(Phillip) of Athens, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, her sister, Jane McLeod Hulsey of Dallas, TX, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Obituary: Marc E. Guy, 79, of Jekyll Island, GA and Delhi, NY, died , 27, 2010 at Hospice of The Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM , 5, 2010 at Jekyll Island United Methodist Church with Father Tony Powell officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Delhi, NY. Born 18, 1930 in Troy, New York to the late Marc E. Guy Sr. and V. Bainbridge Guy, he was a retired pharmacist. Mr. Guy was a graduate of Union University and Albany of Pharmacy, Albany, New York, class of 1952 and was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. In 1956 he and Marilyn moved to Delhi, NY and purchased Merrills Pharmacy with he operated until 1984. He was head of pharmacy department of Del. Co. Countryside Infirmary, Delhi, NY, for38 years. Mr. Guy also owned and operated Hallmark Gold Crown Card and Gift Shop, The Mortar and Pestle in Delhi, NY. He served on many civic boards and was village trustee and mayor of Delhi for two terms. Mr. Guy was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Delhi, NY as well as St. Richards Episcopal Church on Jekyll Island, GA. He and Marilyn wintered at Villas by the Sea on Jekyll Island where they met and enjoyed many loving friends. His greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Thompson Guy, of Delhi, NY, a daughter, Marcia Pavlica and husband Michael of Burns, WY, two sons, Marc A. Guy and wife Karla and M. Obituary: Mr. Lyman Morris Guy, Sr., 84, died night ( 7, 2015) at Hospice House Satilla after an extended illness. He was a native of Brantley , but he lived most of his life in Waycross. He served in the United States Marine Corp and retired from CSX Railroad as a car inspector and supervisor after 36 years. He was affiliated with the Baptist faith. As a loving and devoted husband and father, Lyman cherished many good times at Harrietts Bluff on the Crooked River enjoying his passion of fishing. Lyman is the son of the late Lonnie Guy and Melissa Strickland Guy. He is preceded in death by two brothers, James Guy and Edward Guy; and three sisters, Mary Thrift, Carie Thrift and Louise Guy. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Altman Guy of Waycross; one daughter, Dalphine Spatola of Waycross; one son, Lyman Morris Guy, Jr. (wife Joyce) of Waycross; four grandchildren, Lyman Guy III (wife Carman) of Collins, GA, Melissa Guy of Waycross, Crystal White (husband Phillip) of Blackshear, and Guy Spatola (wife Nicole) of Waycross; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Troy Guy (wife Betty) of Waycross; and several nieces and nephews.
