Obituary: W.K. Gentry, 76, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away , 30, 2015. Mr. Gentry was born in Bartow on 26, 1939, the son of the late, Stewart and Estelle Gentry. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Carlton Gentry and his wife, Charlotte. W.K. is survived by his wife, Margaret Woods Gentry, son, Michael Gentry of Cartersville, daughter, Susan Scott of Rome, son and daughter in law, Chris and Mindy Gentry of Marietta. Grandchildren, Carolyn Gentry, Allison Gentry, Sarah Gentry, Ella Gentry, Kel Scott and Marcus Scott, sisters, Joyce Conway, Joan and Gary Paulus, brothers, Phillips and Nancy Gentry, Jackie and Shirley Gentry and a number of nieces and nephews. W.K. retired in 1996 from the City of Cartersville after 34 years of service. He spent 14 years with the electric department and 20 years as the parks and recreation director. W.K. loved going to church and was a member of New Hope Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed being with his family and especially his grandchildren. He made sure they had Brown Cow ice cream when they came for visits and he loved giving them to his little buddy, Jack Baxter, our neighbor. W.K. loved playing golf with his sons and friends and was a member of the Cartersville Country Club for 30 years. Visitation will be at Owen Chapel, , 2, 2015, from noon until 2:00 p.m. services will follow the chapel of Owen . Pastors Drew Brown and Phillips Gentry will be officiating. Burial will follow immediately in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will include Dustin Cole, Keith Conway, Jackie Ray Gentry, Jeff Gentry, Perry Littlefield and Ronald Satcher. Contributions can be made to New Hope Chapel Baptist Church, 3194 Cartersville Highway/ Highway 411, Rome, Georgia 30161. Obituary: Phillips Henry Gentry, age 73, passed away on , 8, 2017. Mr. Gentry was born on 11, 1943 in Bartow , son of the late Stewart Gentry and Estelle Robinson. Mr. Gentry was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a proud Minister of the Gospel at The Church of God of Union Assembly, where he was ordained in 1972. His pride and joy was his loving wife of fifty-three years, Nancy Grant Gentry, his girls, Phyllis, Hope and Stacey, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved people and everyone he met became special and a part of his family. He always saw the world through rose colored glasses and was able to find the good in everything and everyone. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis Kaye Gentry; brothers, Rev. Carldon Gentry and W.K. Gentry. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Grant Gentry; daughters, Hope (David) Uitermark and Stacey (Brent) Ledford; grandchildren, Celia (Doug) Hall, Wade (Katie Capel) Ledford, Adam (Hayley) Bell and Erin Bell; great-grandchildren, Kipton and Harper Hall, Stryker Capel. Peyton Ledford, Gunner Bell and Ava Parrish; sisters, Joyce Conway, Joan (Gary) Paulus; brother, Jackie (Shirley)Gentry; a host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on , the 15th of , 2017 in the chapel of Owen with Rev. Charlie Pratt, Rev. Oley Wilson and Rev. Fred Cassell officiating. Music will be performed by Marcia Hughes and the Starnes Family. Interment will immediately follow in Taylorsville . Serving as pallbearers are Brent Ledford, Wade Ledford, Adam Bell, Dave Uitermark, Doug Hall and Nickoli Brunni. Honorary pallbearers are Dustin Cole and Andreas Lopez.
