Obituary: Mrs. Joan Carol Garland, age 61 of Cartersville, GA., passed away , 29, 2016. Mrs. Garland was born on 24, 1954 a daughter to the late Ralph Vaughan and Lanelle Ward Vaughan. To say Mrs. Garland was an exceptional, classy lady would be an understatement. Throughout her life she placed all of her faith in Jesus Christ, she was a dedicated prayer warrior and her love for The Lord radiated to everyone around her. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Life Group School Class. She worked at Montessori Childrens World for twenty five years. Mrs. Garland loved to travel. Her favorite places to visit were Jackson Hole Wyoming and Yellow Stone National Park; on her trips she could be found looking for a Moose to capture a perfect photograph. She also enjoyed going to Silver Sneekers on a weekly basis, listening to Christian Music, and keeping everything in her home perfectly organized. There was no doubt she found a lot of joy in her hobbies and traveling, however, her heart was most content being a wife and a mother. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and will certainly be missed by all who knew her. On 20, 1977 she married the love of her life, Allan Garland. Their love was special; they were the very best of friends, never being seen without the other. Their bond was based upon their faith in Christ and unwavering throughout their thirty-eight wonderful years of marriage. Mrs. Garland is preceded in death by her sister- in- law, Linda Garland Cantrell and her in-laws Clint and Frances Garland. Mrs. Garland is survived by her husband, Allan Garland; her son, Preston Garland of Los Angeles, CA; her sister Joyce Swinford, husband Wayne, of Cartersville, GA; her brother-in-law Raiford Cantrell; her niece, Jennifer Vann; uncles, Sherlin Vaughan, wife Marie, and Lud Ward, wife Hazel, and John Akin and wife Dee. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two oclock in the afternoon on , 2, 2016, in the Chapel of Owen with Rev. Don Startup officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill in Cartersville, GA. The family will receive friends from four oclock in the afternoon until eight on , 1, 2016 at Owen . Obituary: Frances A. Garland Mrs. Frances Adams Garland was born on Dec.10, 1926. Mrs. Garland (age 89) of Riverdale, Georgia passed away on 30, 2016. She lived a long and fruitful life from being born in her parents home to graduating from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn) in 1947. She worked for Delta Air Lines, where she met and married the love of her life. had two children and she eventually retired from Republic (Southern Airways) in 1986; only to return to work with J.C. Penneys and retire again in 1997. She and her husband Floyd traveled and enjoyed life. In 2000 at the death of her husband she returned to her roots by joining the First Baptist Church -Riverdale where she was an active member until she passed. She spent the last part of her life traveling with her running partner Regina Garland Webb from Alaska to Europe until she could not go on anymore. She is preceded in death by her parents, Boynton & Corrine Adams, husband, Floyd Edgar Garland; sister in law Regina Garland Webb. She leaves to cherish her memory; two sons, Judson Adams Garland, and James Floyd Garland; two grandchildren, Adrian Judson Garland and Claire Elizabeth Garland, cousins; George A Hawkins of Seattle, WA., and Elaine Graddy of Griffin, GA.
