Obituary: FAIN, (BARCLAY) MARGARET MIDGE It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, Grams, and GG at age 84 in Glendale. Midge was predeceased by her first husband Frank Barclay in 1976, her loving son Randy Rhea Fain in 2000, and her precious great-granddaughter Sophia Rose in 2007. Midge and Frank relocated to Phoenix from Harbor Beach, MI where they had owned Barclay Furniture. Upon arrival in Phoenix, they opened Bakatari Imports and Barclays Menswear. Franks death, Midge returned to the medical field where she met her current beloved husband Jim who is left to treasure her memory as are her loving son William Barclay, her devoted daughter-in-law Cheryl, daughter Cathy Cherrington and husband Steve as well as Jims children, James W (Karen) and Michael (Carol) who thought of her as Mom. She is also survived by her sisters, Georgene (Joel) Gorzen of Glendale, AZ and Aileen Graff of Grosse Pointe Park, MI. Midges grandchildren Chrishaunna, Jay (Brandy), Scott, Tia (Adrian), Christopher, Michelle, Jimmy, Kayleen, Karina and Jenny will miss her greatly as will her great-grandchildren Trevor, Taylor, Alexus, Isabella, Abigail, Brian, Dillon, Gavin and Corbin. She was so very proud of all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren \ all their individual accomplishments and was always supportive and loving. Midge was a woman of great strength and fortitude which was always complemented by her loving, kind and compassionate manner. No matter the situation or who she was greeting she always had a smile on her face and found the good in everyone she came into contact with. Although she always found the good in everyone, no matter their circumstance, she was always willing to offer her well thought out opinion when asked. Often times, the message delivered by Midge was like an iron fist in a velvet glove as she had such a wonderful way of softening any blow. Time with family and friends was so very important to Midge. She always wanted everyone to smile and be happy. Her hand crocheted booties, baby booties, afghans, handmade jewelry and pouches and her homemade baked goods were not just gifts given with a warm heart, but were her Gifts of Love given all year long. We all believed she fed her neighborhood of BelAir as well as Arcadia. Her handwritten thank you notes as well as her notes just to let you know she was thinking of you were always a delight to find when one opened their mailbox. Midge was an active member of St Raphael Parish, belonging to the Womens Guild and performing what she considered to be one her most meaningful functions, that of Eucharistic Minister to the homebound. Just visiting her fellow parishioners and letting them know they were thought of and loved was so very important to Mom. Midge was also active in her residential community of Bel Air where she and Jim served on many various committees over the past 37 years. Since their retirement, Midge and Jim have traveled extensively \ including all 50 states, Mexico, Canada and cruises all over the globe. Midge faced lifes challenges with grace and dignity. As her beloved son Bill would say, I loved my Mom so very much. I gave her a run for her money here on this earth and she and I laughed later about a great many things that occurred while I was growing up. She now has the wings to go with the halo she earned while being the best Mom to me, as well as my siblings. She was the kind of Mom every kid deserves. Visitation will be held on , 28th from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes , 7924 North 59th Avenue, Glendale, AZ. 85301 The Mass of Christian Burial will take place , 29th at 11:00am at St Raphaels Catholic Church, 5525 West Acoma, Glendale, AZ 85306. Internment will immediately follow at Resthaven Park , 6290 West Northern, Glendale, AZ 85302. A luncheon will be served at St. Raphaels Fellowship Hall after internment. Love endures all things, believes all things and hopes all things. Midges love will live on within all of those she touched! |
