Obituary: Mary Robertson Freeberger entered the Kingdom of Heaven on , 2, 2009. Born on May 26, 1928, in Richmond, VA, Mary was raised by her loving father and grandparents. Mary was the first in her family to attend college, with courses taken at both the of William and Mary in Richmond, and The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Mary was employed as a Disability Claims Adjuster by the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, MD for 30 years before her retirement in 1978. She was a devoted mother to son, Thomas Freeberger, and his wife, JoAnn Lobig Freeberger, and loving grandmother to grandson, Kevin Freeberger. During her years of retirement, Mary enjoyed traveling, the Arts and Murder Mystery Weekends in Allenberry, PA, in addition to reading and actively working crossword puzzles. Mary moved to Jacksonville, FL on 1, 1996, and finally settled in Orange Park, FL in 1998. Obituary: Phillip Pierce Free 1939-2014 Phillip Pierce Free, 75, of Ormond Beach, passed away peacefully at Bridgeview center on 12, 2014. He was born on May 17, 1939 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Lovis and Effie Free. Phillip and his family moved to Daytona Beach at 6 years old and he later graduated from Mainland High School in 1958. He completed the 4 year apprenticeship program at Daytona Beach JATC. He worked as a licensed Journeyman electrician for over 50 years. Phillip enjoyed helping to coach baseball when his children were young. He also enjoyed traveling, bowling, ski trips out West and boating with his grandchildren. He always made sure to be home on afternoon for his weekly golf game. Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, Lovis and Effie Free as well as a son, Stephen T. Free. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 54 years, Alinda; children, Robert (Tami) Free, Marshall Free, daughter, Selena White (Scott); sisters, Marilyn (Kirt) Manzell and Kathy (Paul) Phillips; grandchildren, Samantha Free, Ryan Free, Riley Free, Sydney White, Savannah White, Summerlyn White; many nephews and cousins in Daytona Beach, Alabama, and Mississippi. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff at Bridgeview for the excellent care for the past 3.5 years and to Vitas Hospice. His smile will always be remembered and he will be missed by many. A visitation will be held at Volusia Memorial , 548 N. Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, on , 18 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with a service to follow at 10:30. |
