Obituary: Margaret Ford, 90, went home to her Lord 7, 2010 peacefully in her home in Manitou Springs, Colorado. She was preceded in death by husband Mart W. Willingham, daughters Donna Snyder, Barbara Murphy, son-in- law Bud Murphy, grandson Jamie Murphy, great grandson Brandon Long and step-daughter Andrea Ihli. She is survived by husband of 37 years, Erle L. Ford of Manitou Springs, daughters Lynda (Buddy) Johnson of Rush, CO, Marta Bloom of Greely ,CO, step-daughter Linda (Kenneth) Prather of Colorado Springs, CO, and step-son Andrew Ford of Richmond, TX, grandchildren Shannon (John) Long of Olatha, CO, William F. Bartram of USAF, Utah, Marty (Laurie) Murphy of Manitou Springs, Stephen (Francie) Murphy of Green Mountain Falls, CO, Dejon (David) Sanger of Yoder, CO, Erin (Kent) Reeve of Pueblo West, CO, Felicia (Jason) Ozant of Pueblo West, CO, Jennifer Bloom of Green Mountain Falls, CO and Christie Bloom of Greeley, CO, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great grandchildren. Margaret was born in Coppers Cove, Texas to Wayne E. and Lula Shannon on 28, 1920. She grew up around the Tahoka, Texas area. She married Mart W. Willingham in 1936 and had 4 daughters. In of 1954 the family moved to Manitou Springs where she was employed by J.C. Pennys in the alteration department and was an active member of the Manitou Southern Baptist Church. She met Erle Ford and they were married 10, 1973. Margaret loved the Lord and was active in the Southern Baptist Church that she was a member of. When her health permitted she was also active in the local Gideon Organization. She gave generously to many charities, particularly the Humane Society. Her greatest joys were her husband, children and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, who all called her Meme. She was a loving and caring wife. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, singing, reading and her kitties. She will be greatly missed by her family, many nieces and nephews and friends. Visitation, , 13, 2010 from 3-7 p.m. at Swan Law Directors. Service, , 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 3010 W. Bijou Street, Colorado Springs 80904. A Graveside will follow at Crystal Valley , Manitou Springs. Obituary: Jerry Roy Ford, 77, of Centennial, Colorado, passed away on 1, 2017. He was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Zelpha Ford; brother, Karl Ford; and grandson, Paul Myers. Jerry is survived by wife, Joan Timms-Ford; son, Jay Ford (Kathy); daughter, Valisa Myers; step-daughter, Terri Eisert (Doug); sister, Lavonne Baker; brothers-in-law, Dan Hoppes (Judy) and Jim Hoppes (Ginny); 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. proudly serving in the United States Marines, Jerry began a career at IBM which spanned 31 years and continued contract work for them after taking voluntary retirement. One of his proudest assignments while at IBM was the opportunity to support military services while living in Germany. While there, Jerry and Joan took the opportunity to visit many European countries.. While Jay was growing up, Jerry served as coach of several little league baseball teams. His love of the Broncos, travel, skiing and fishing was surpassed only by his love for family, friends and animals of all species. He loved it when Valisa, while working at the Ft. Wayne, Indiana zoo would bring home animals ranging from tiger cubs to snakes that needed extra care. He was an avid fan of all sports ranging from football to car racing and his knowledge of the history of most sports, participants and rules and regulations was unsurpassed. Jerry's consistent sense of humor, even in difficult times, will be missed and although he will be greatly missed by all who knew him, he leaves behind a loving legacy for family and friends. A Memorial service for Jerry will be held at 10 am, , 20, 2017 at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121 with inurnment to follow at Fort Logan National at 12:15 pm. Following the committal service, a reception to celebrate Jerry's life will be held at 2:00 pm, at Wind Crest Retirement Community,3235 Mill Vista Rd, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Porter Hospice, 5020 E. Arapahoe Rd., Centennial, CO 80122, the American Lung Association; or, the American Diabetes Association. |
