Obituary: Dean E. Faber Passed away peacefully at age 78 on 30, 2016. Loving husband of Judith (nee Naus). Preceded in death by his parents Emma (nee Becker) and Hilbert Faber, sister Lucille and her husband Bob Wessinger. Survived by nieces, Gerri (Tom) Proft and Bonnie (Bill) Pater. Dean was loved by many family, friends and neighbors. Dean was a veteran of the U.S. Army, business owner for 30 years of Deans Automotive on Teutonia Ave. He was an avid golfer and sheepshead player in Wisconsin and Florida. Obituary: Betty R. Faas, age 87, died , 12, 2009 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam. A memorial gathering will be held at St. Mark\s Episcopal Church in Beaver Dam on , 15, 2009 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. services will follow at the church on , beginning at 2:00 PM. Rev. Mary J. Mail will officiate. Burial will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield on , 17, 2009. The former Betty R. Spiegel was born on 9, 1922 in Clintonville, Wisconsin, the daughter of George W. and Mildred (Folkman) Spiegel. She graduated from Clintonville Public High School in 1939. She was active in drama, forensics, and was the Concertmistress of the high school and community orchestras. Betty was known for acting and singing, including singing in opera. She trained first at the Summer Music Clinic at UW-Madison for three years. She graduated from Milwaukee State Teachers (currently UW-Milwaukee) in 1943 with a B.S., with a major in Music Education and a minor in English. She did graduate work at UW and at Montana State. Betty loved being a soloist at St. Mark\s Episcopal Church and at Temple Emmanuel B\ne Jeshurun, both in Milwaukee. Betty married Carl Jack Faas of Whitefish Bay on 29, 1944 in Clintonville. Their son Carl Jack Faas, Jr. was born in 1948. Betty spent her teaching career as a vocal and string teacher; she taught two years in Sheboygan Falls, one year at Milwaukee University School, two years at Columbia Hospital School of , 15 years as the Thiensville/Mequon music supervisor, and for 14 years at Park High School in Livingston, MT. She also trained student teachers for Montana State in Bozeman. Betty then taught at Bangor Wisconsin High School for two years, Hartland Grade School, one year and Beaver Dam High School from 1983 until retirement in 1993. She then mentored in PALS from 1993 to 2003. During her high school teaching career, she produced and directed many Broadway musicals which included: Sound of Music and South Pacific. She is registered in the US Library of Congress for having produced and directed Amahl and the Night Visitors, an opera by Gian Carlo Menotti, a composer listed as a US National Treasure. Betty\s husband was ordained an Episcopal priest in 1964, and they moved to Montana in 1965. returned to Wisconsin in 1980 and lived in Sparta where her husband served at St. John\s Church. moved to Beaver Dam in 1983 when her husband retired. Betty was active in the Beaver Dam Community Theatre. She directed music for Something Funny Happened on the Way to the Forum, Little Shop of Horrors, and in the Park with George to dedicate the Beaver Dam High School auditorium. Betty was also active in the Beaver Dam Arts Association and was a greeter at the Seippel stead and for the Arts, was past-president and choir director for the Beaver Dam Area Orchestra, was concert chairperson for the Dodge Area Concert Association and loved introducing concerts. She was a member of the A.A.U.W., a life-member of O.E.S., a life-member of Delta Omicron National Music Sorority. She was a member of the Rotary Club and a five time Paul Harris Fellow, served two terms as Beaver Dam Rotary president and served four years as assistant governor of district 6250. In 2006, Betty was honored as a recipient of the Beaver Dam Unified Schools District\s Friends of Education award and her name is displayed on the Wall of Fame. Betty is survived by her son C. Jack (Nancy) Faas, Jr. of The Colony, Texas, her grandson, Jason Thomas, her great granddaughter, Alyssa, her niece, Susan (Ken) DeClue and her daughter, Mindy, and special friends, Don & Shirley Clough and Russell & Cindy Schrab. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1985, and two brothers, Donald and Robert Spiegel. The Murray in Beaver Dam is caring for the family.
