Obituary: JOHN JACK OTTO FISCHER 27, 1932 ~ 10, 2015 ~ In Loving Memory ~ John Jack Otto Fischer, 83, passed away at home in Vancouver, WA of pulmonary disease. He was born 27, 1932 in Saginaw, MI to Otto John Fischer and Florence (Mahar) Fisher. Jack graduated from high school, he enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War. Jack came west in the early 1960s and farmed, auctioneered, worked in heavy construction in Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and on the pipeline in Alaska. He spent many hours raising, riding, and training horses. Jack was a wrangler at many Lodge Resorts. He never knew a stranger and had many friends here and in Yuma, AZ where he and his wife, Betty, spent their winters. Jack is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Julie Hancock (Carl) of La , WA; step-daughter, Penny Schultz (Rod) of Kalama, WA; and his sister, Mary McPhee (Don) in Saginaw, MI. Jack was loved so much and will be in our hearts and memories forever. A memorial service will be held on Wed., Sept. 30 at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver, WA 98684. Please sign his guest book at: www.columbian.com/obits. |

Obituary: Helen Louise Fischer, 80, of Everett passed away 17, 2010. She was born 27, 1930 in Glendive, Montana to Oscar and Alice Stubberud. She graduated from Sandpoint High in Sandpoint, Idaho. She met and married Clarence Fischer on 15, 1950. moved to the Puget Sound Area in 1972. Helen worked for Jumbo Foods for over 25 years. She leaves her husband of 60 years, Clarence; children, Ron (Madge) Fischer of Joshua, Texas, Mike (Joyce) Fischer of Maltby, WA, Joe (Therese) Fischer of Marysville, and Joanne (T.C.) Groennert of Enumclaw; her sister, Isobel Benda of Ponderay, Idaho, her brother, Allen (May) Stubberud, Irvine, CA; seven grandchildren, Becky, Dan, Michelle, Josh, Jeremy, Katie and Todd; four great-grandchildren, Keanu, Taylor, Kenny, and Brandon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Bud Stubberud, and sister, Frances Domitrovich. A Celebration of Helens life will be held , 23, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Evergreen , Everett.
