Obituary: Corinne Elizabeth Finch, 95, passed away on May 28, 2017. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to the late James C. Finch. She is survived by her son, James Gary Finch; daughters, Arlene Finch McDermott (Frank) and Faye Finch Conklin (Ray); a loving granddaughter, Rhonda Fetner (Deric); grandson, John Fleming (Amanda) and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Corinne Carter; her sister, Thelma Carter and brothers, Everette, Alton and Nelson Carter. Elizabeth was born on 29, 1921. She grew up on a farm and worked all of her life. Elizabeth met James while he was stationed at Fort A. P. Hill. married in 1942 before James was deployed overseas to fight in World War II, where he was in the Battle of the Bulge. worked hand-in-hand to provide a good life for their family. were part of the Greatest Generation, an era marked by war and economic depression. Elizabeth enjoyed reading her daily newspaper, People magazine, watching the evening news and Dancing With The Stars. In earlier years, Elizabeth enjoyed teaching children in and Vacation Bible School. Elizabeth loved tending her flowers. The family will receive friends at Storke , Bowling Green, 4:00-6:00 PM , 2, 2017. An evening funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM Pastor Michael McGee officiating. Interment will be 11:00 AM , 3, 2017 at Greenlawn . |

Obituary: FINCH, Dan Olin Sr., 81, of Quinton, Va., died on 27, 2016. Dan, son of Thomas and Ada Jane Finch, loving husband of Nancy Finch, passed away at his home in Quinton, Va., after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Denise Martin (Charlie); son, Dan Jr. (Holly); daughter, Cindy Coghill (David); daughter, Melanie Gilmer (Brent); and six grandchildren. Dan Sr. was a retired business owner, loving husband, devoted father, Marine veteran, Past Master of Mann Page Masonic Lodge, and a member of ACCA Shrine Legion of Honor. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held at Nelsen on Laburnum Avenue, , 2, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home , 3, 2016, at 12 noon. Obituary: Giovanni Finazzo, 67, of Earlysville passed away peacefully 19th at his home surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Paula Ulrope Finazzo, their 3 daughters Christina, Elizabeth, Amanda; 5 grandchildren Giovanna, Sophia, Braxton, Lilyana and Dean, and his three siblings Sarina, Carlo, Giuseppe and their families. Jerry was a special person to all the people he met. He had an infectious personality, and impacted many peoples' lives in multiple ways. Any individual that knew him would agree that he was one of a kind. He opened his heart to Crozet and was very happy to have made so many wonderful friends in doing so. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, 22nd at Teague . The service will be officiated by Rev. David Collier of the Crozet Baptist Church. The Charlottesville Fire Department and Crozet Volunteer Fire Department will be acknowledging Jerry for his service to the community as an honorary member. Teague will open its doors 2 hours prior to the service for visitation. |
