Obituary: Eva Marie Lewis Frakes, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on 31, 2016 in South Jordan, Utah. She will be deeply missed by her family and dear friends. Eva was born to Thomas John Lewis and Lillie Pearl Stoddard on 11, 1923, in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Her family moved to Murray, Utah, when she was 3 years old, and later to Holladay, Utah. Although her family didn have much by way of worldly wealth, Eva recalled never feeling like they were poor. Her imagination was bright and active, and thanks to a deep love of reading she felt that she could go anywhere and be anything through the stories she read! She was the first sibling to graduate from high school, an achievement that brought great pride to her father. Eva married Walter Roy Frakes (deceased) on 28, 1943. Together they had three children: Michael (Barbara, deceased) Frakes, West Valley City, Utah, Karen (Douglas) Hind, South Jordan, Utah, and Jeff (Lesa) Frakes, South Jordan, Utah. Eva is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. To help with family finances, Eva went to work for the Salt Lake Assessors Office as a typist in the Motor Vehicle Division, and eventually became an assistant administrator. working for 27 years, she retired and was able to do some traveling with her children and grandchildren. Some of her favorite places to visit included Hawaii, England, and Alaska. Eva had many hobbies. She was a wonderful cook and passed down many favorite recipes to her children and grandchildren. Knitting, crocheting, oil painting, and cross-stitching were all talents she excelled at and with which she generously blessed the lives of her family. Eva was also a great record keeper. She was the designated family historian at a young age and was tasked with keeping genealogy up to date at family reunions. Dear Grandma: Although it is hard to say goodbye for now, your legacy of integrity, generosity and loyalty will stay with us always. We will especially remember the bowl of candy you always had available for the kids when they came to visit and the annual Christmas pajama tradition for all 34 great grandchildren! Thank you for leaving such wonderful footsteps for us to follow. This separation is not good-bye, but rather, until we meet again. Services will be , 6, 2016 11:00 am at the LDS chapel located at 1249 West 10775 South, South Jordan. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service from 10-10:45 am at the same location. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. |

Obituary: Mary Katherine Foxen Kathy (59) Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Great-Grandmother, and Friend went home to her Heavenly Father 11, 2017. Kathy is survived by her 5 Children: Tammy Lujan (Bryan), Mikel Smith, Jamie Matheny, Jody Gray (Dale), and Brittany Fisher. 20 Grandchildren: Carisa, Cassandra, Jeffery, Jenica, Azure, Koli, Harley, Djinn, Amy, Kaiya, Taezia, Izayiah, Hunter, Nathan, Kayeleigh, Christopher, Autumn, Matthew, Michael, and Alyssa, 8 Great-Grandchildren: Peyton, Jason, Emma, Jaykeb, Rowen, Nevaeh, Daniel, Jessica. Her Brother Larry Brown and her Life Sister Ruby Huggler. Kathy was preceded in death by her Mother Betty Brown and her Father Hurbert Brown. She was surrounded by her family and friends and went to God peacefully. She spent her entire life with infectious passion, passion for God, family, friends, her Cherokee heritage, and singing. In this heartbreaking time for us we choose to celebrate her life, we choose to share who she was and what she lived for, for she was a Godly woman with many inspirations and convictions. She impacted everyones life she entered and everyone was a better person by knowing her, she was unafraid to share her beliefs and teach those around her about her unwavering faith. Kathy was born on May 28, 1957 in Chicago, IL to Hurbert and Betty Brown. Her family moved to Orange , CA where she was raised. She enjoyed many things in her youth but one she was always very proud of was her modeling days and wow what a beauty she was! She had two marriages her first to Mikel K Smith where she was blessed with two incredible children Tammy Lujan and Mikel K Smith Jr, she lived in Utah for a time with them and she would tell us great stories from her time in Santaquin, UT. She eventually moved back to California after her divorce and met her second husband Dell Foxen and together their family grew from 2 each to 4 combined, Jamie Matheny and Jody Gray were the daughters of Dell Foxen and were 4 and 6 years old at the time. A few short years later they were blessed with a daughter of their own, Brittany Fisher which was the moment our family became 5 and we were all one cohesive family. She wanted to live where she could have horses and raise us out of the city, so we moved to Parris, CA and her dream came true to have her horses once again. She was all about family and when her fathers health began to deteriorate she needed to move back close to them so off to Tustin, CA we went. She was an incredible caregiver to her parents, first to her Father Hubert and then to her mom after he had passed. In Tustin is where she met her Life sister Ruby Huggler, a friendship that lasted with such intensity and love that sister was what they called each other, we are sure at the time they did not realize that their friendship would grow into something so incredible and powerful. She was so very blessed and she let us all know how honored she was to find a friend so great and true. In the mid 90s Kathy and Dell moved to Rose Park, UT with all of us kids and we brought her mom with us where she was her caregiver until she passed away. A short time later Dells father passed away so they moved back to California where Kathy took care of Dells mother until she also passed away. She was always taking care of everyone, the time and love and care she provided for her and her husband's parents was the type of selfless love she put into all her relationships. then moved to Pleasant View, Utah in the late 90s after Dell got the job there, she loved Utah so she was happy to go back. a few years Kathy and Dell divorced, then she devoted all her time and love into her family. She single handedly kept us all together, she was so strong and such a fighter and we are all still a family because of her dedication. She went back and forth from Utah and California after this but ended up here in Utah with all of her children. Kathys greatest love besides her faith was her brother Larry Brown. She was always his biggest caregiver, supporter, advocate, and so many more things. She made sure each one of us kids had a relationship with our uncle and even after she left this world she is still making sure he is cared for. Through her we got to grow up feeling like he was right here with us. She would tell us such great stories of the two of them growing up, the love they have for one another is so incredibly powerful. Kathy also had her extended adoptive family she made our childhood friends feel like they were part of her family, her kids. She opened her door to anyone who needed it, a place to crash, a place to live, she fed them if they were hungry, she prayed for them, and she sang with them, she loved them. And they loved her as a mother figure in their lives as well. Kathy had many loves in this world and was incredibly talented. |
