Obituary: Weldon Warren Funderburk Weldon Funderburk was born on May 1, 1925 in Elkhart, Texas. He passed away on 27, 2010 at his home in Houston, Texas. Weldon was the eldest son of Guy and Gertie Funderburk and older brother to Alene and Larry Funderburk. Weldon grew up in small towns in East and West Texas. He was a member of the football team and played in the band at Kermit High School, graduating with many classmates with whom he maintained friendships for many years. In 1943, at the age of eighteen, Weldon volunteered to serve in the United States Navy at the height of World War II. He served his country in the North Pacific as a part of the Naval Construction Force (the Seabees), 66th N.C.B., 1022nd detachment, building airfields in the Aleutian Islands and Okinawa. Upon returning home, he attended Baylor University and Baylor University School of Law from which he graduated in 1949. Weldon then moved to Houston where he worked in the insurance claims business. During this time, Weldon also traveled the world, visiting Europe, Asia and Africa. Weldon opened his own law firm in Houston in 1955. The firm, which became Funderburk & Funderburk, remains one of the citys finest litigation firms to this day. During Weldons long legal career, he received numerous recognitions as an outstanding defense attorney. He was a Life Fellow of the Houston Bar Foundation, was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, and was elected as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Weldon was well-known within the Houston bar as a hard working, good-natured lawyer whose practice was marked by skill, integrity and fair dealing. These hallmark characteristics were nurtured in his practice and passed on to a remarkable number of outstanding Houston attorneys and judges who learned to practice law under Weldon and worked for his firm over the years. On 9, 1961, Weldon married Patricia Ann Bohannon to whom he was happily married for over 48 years. Weldon and Patricia loved to travel and brought out the best in one another. Their children, David, Greg, Susan and Laura remember their dad as a good and loving father who modeled the importance of faith, family and work. He was a man who always saw and did what was needed as a husband, father and friend. Weldon was a member and deacon of Tallowood Baptist Church. He volunteered with Big Brothers and Sisters of Houston and enjoyed traveling all over the United States with his family, coaching little league baseball, attending his childrens school plays and piano recitals and rooting for the Baylor Bears. When Patricia was diagnosed with a progressive neurological disorder in 1990, Weldon became and remained his wifes steady caregiver for many years until his own health declined. In this regard, Weldons children wish to deeply thank their parents caregivers, Judy Arroyo, Altagracia Caba, Araceli Castellanos, Elizabeth Hix, Kathryn Weeks, Ruth Hutchinson and Maria Carvajal. Weldon is survived by his wife, Patricia, his children, David and wife Becky, Greg and wife Kelly, Laura and husband Mike Fullerton, and Susan, as well as five grandchildren, Caroline, Luke, Hank, Charlie and Emma. He is also survived by his brother Larry and his wife, Linda, as well as nephews, Don and Mike Kennedy, and niece Claire Funderburk. Friends and family are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five oclock until eight oclock the evening of , the 1st of , at Memorial Oaks , 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. A memorial service is to be conducted at ten oclock in the morning of , the 2nd of , in the Chapel at Tallowood Baptist Church, 555 Tallowood Drive, Houston, Texas 77024. Immediately following the service, all are welcome to join the family for a reception at the Forest Club of Houston, 9950 Memorial (Memorial at Saddlebrook), Houston, Texas 77024. The burial will take place at ten oclock in the morning on , the 3rd of at Memorial Oaks 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. Obituary: Edward Edd Funderburk, 84, died , 6, 2014. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. 10, 2014 in Llano with Sherman Eastland officiating. are by Memorial Park , 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Funderburk was born Feb. 22, 1930, in Muleshoe to Albert and Girtie Funderburk. He married Louise Efird on 10, 1949. moved to Amarillo in 1955 from Childress. Mr. Funderburk worked for ICX freight lines as a diesel mechanic for 22 years. He also worked for the city of Amarillo as a mechanic for 10 years, before retiring in 1995. He enjoyed racing sprint cars. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife; Louise Funderburk of Amarillo; a son; Eddie Funderburk of Amarillo ; three daughters, Rita Funderburk, Frita Funderburk Alfred and husband Stanley, and Janet Funderburk-Groomer and husband Jonne all of Amarillo; a sister; Coleen Sams of Citrus Heights, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. |

Obituary: Bikki Genois Funderburk, born 29, 1960 peacefully went to be with her Lord on , 14, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Sammie Funderburk whose 69th wedding anniversary was this special day and her Aunt Eva Joyce Lewis. She is survived by her sister, Deana Funderburk whom she loved to travel with and go eat her many Mexican food dinners with and her Aunt Margie Pope along with numerous cousins and friends. A special thanks to Araceli (Chely) Andrade for all the love and care she gave to Bikki. Bikki graduated from Davis High School and was a member of St. Albans Episcopal Church which she attended for many years. Bikki had a love for music - especially Neil Diamond and Johnny Mathis. She dreamed of becoming a ballerina which her dream is now fulfilled with ballerina slippers and angel wings dancing in Heaven. Bikki will be remembered for her loving spirit, her beautiful blue eyes and her contagious laugh. Services will be held on , 25th with Visitation starting at 10:00am followed with the Service at 10:30am at Brookside , Eastex Freeway.
