Obituary: Anna Louise Franco was born on 14, 1923 in Tomball, Texas. She lived in Houston, Texas and late in life moved back to Tomball. Anna went to be with her Lord and Savior on 12, 2014 at the age of 90. She is preceded in death by her husband Fernando Franco, her son Freddie Franco, her parents Judge William Atchison and Lula Bell Cole, and her brother Ellis Atchison. She is survived by her children Joey Franco, Dolores Wallace, Angela Diaz, Eugene Franco, 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Anna proudly worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 32 years. She was hired in 1954 to be an operator. She later moved up to an office position and the last 10 years worked a difficult job out in the plant. She retired in 1986 at the age of 62. Two years after her retirement Annas husband of 34 years passed away; Fernando was the love of her life! Anna then decided to go to work for the Hardy Toll Road. She worked there about two years in a toll booth and would make many new friends. Anna always did her best with whatever the task at hand was. She was also known for her exemplary organization skills. Once her eyesight began to decline she said that being organized was not an option, it was a must. Anna was a long time member of First Baptist Church North Houston. In 2004, due to her eyesight deteriorating, she would no longer be able to drive herself to church. Although she could no longer attend services, giving to the Lord was very important to her. Upon making the transition into assisted living, she made sure all of her can goods were packed up and delivered to the church pantry. She also never missed giving her monthly tithe, even if this meant others had to write out the check for her. In addition to giving to her church, she loved giving to her family. As the years passed by she found herself unable to physically shop for Christmas presents. For years she would get her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren Walmart gift cards. This meant the world to her to be able to give Christmas presents. She personally addressed the Christmas cards for each family member and this was not an easy task. Someone would have to place her hand and pen in the center of the envelope, then she would be able to write the names. One by one she would address these cards with a whole lot of effort, thoughtfulness, and most of all, LOVE. Anna had many hobbies over the years! She never had idle hands. She was always busy in some way. She enjoyed learning new things, which usually led to her being creative in some way. She would take art classes that would lead to her painting pictures and even making puppets for family and friends. In her early years she made clothes for her children and later would make beautiful quilts for many of her family members. She loved taking on the challenge of numerous crossword puzzles, but her favorite pastime would have been playing Bingo. She was also a devoted animal lover and this love has been passed down to her children and grandchildren. Even during her last days she was concerned about the welfare of deer that would show up nightly outside her window. You would never go to visit without seeing her cassette player and many books on tape sitting nearby. She has listened to well over one thousand books over the years, which has encouraged her great imagination. Anna will be remembered for her quick wit, funny stories, one liners, being a thinker, following rules, and most of all her love of family. She will be deeply missed by many that have been touched by her life. We will carry the love and laughter she gave us in our hearts for the rest of our days. My name is Anna Louise, or if you want you can call me Lousiana\\ |
