Obituary: MICKEY JOE FOSTER was carried home by his angels on evening, 23, 2010. This world suffers a huge loss when a man like Mickey passes away. He was a giving son, a loving husband, a dedicated and loving father and Paw Paw, and a loyal friend and we will all miss him. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna Foster; his father Fred L. Foster, Jr. and stepmother Dora Foster; his sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Lynn Atkinson; his brother Rockne Foster; his children: Shane Foster and his wife Mirelle and their two daughters: Savannah and Makayla; and his daughter Jody Foster-Albrecht and her two children: SueEllen and Brennan. Mickey was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Rose. Mickey was a third generation Austin man and attended Travis High School and furthered his education through the Police Academy and Professional Real Estate School for higher education. He served as an Officer of the Law for Austin Police Department in his early twenties; he worked dedicated hours as an iron-worker in commercial construction and found his passion in building and real estate investments. Mickey was a natural at sales and making a deal come together as he never met a stranger and had an unbelievable way of reading a situation and setting into motion the best plan of action to make the business deal work. He valued his loyal business partnerships and those wonderful men and women that God had placed in his life along the way that made his Real Estate path so pleasant for so many years. His grandchildren were the absolute love of his life. He was passionate about beautiful artwork and collectibles, traveling the world, fishing, hunting with his son and friends, but most of all . . . the good ole family time with his wife, kids, grandkids and extended family for dinners, birthday parties, holidays, sporting events and water gun fights in the his pool. Mickey loved life and God let him bless our lives for many years. Mickey had not been feeling well and was admitted into ICU at Seton hospital on 15, 2010. We give thanks and appreciation to the Medical Doctor Staff and all the Nurses who worked for hours to try and help Mickey get better. My Dad taught us to always lead and never follow and that it will be hard sometimes to stand alone because we have made the right and honorable decision, but that a true heart would always conqueror the hate and negative intentions of others. He used to say, If you are going to be a bear . . . be a Grizzly Bear. And when we were little he never let us say the words, I Can . He not only taught us, but he showed us that We Can no matter the circumstances. My Dad is truly loved, truly respected and a good, good man! If you ever met him, I am sure he touched your heart in a way you will never forget. We will miss you Dad all of our days here on earth. The grandkids want to say, Paw Paw, We Love You! Visitation is set for 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., , 26, 2010, at Cook-Walden : 6100 N. Lamar. services will be held 2:00p.m. , 27, 2010, at Cook-Walden . Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks, 14501 N. IH 35. Pallbearers: Shane Barnett, Byron Foster, Stephen Foster, Paul Hudson, Michael Marek and Ken Seggern.
