Obituary: Betty Ann (Hudspeth) Foster went home to be with her Lord and Savior on , 17, 2016. She was 89 years old. Burial will be at 10:00a.m. in Funston with a memorial service following at 11:30a.m. at Southwest Park Baptist Church on , 23, 2016 with Rev. Mike Woodard officiating. Visitation will be , 22, 2016 from 5 to 7p.m. at Elliott-Hamil , 5701 Hwy 277 South, Abilene. Betty Ann Hudspeth was born to Elmer Benton and Bessie Polk Hudspeth on 11, 1926 in their home at Caddo, Texas. Her daddy would tell her years later that the Armistice Day Parade (Veteran's Day) was for her birthday. graduating from Caddo schools she moved to Abilene to attend Draughn's Business . She met and married Frank Foster from Anson on 2, 1948. had three children. Frank was a pastor and they moved around several places. The last place of service was Aspermont, Texas. It was there that Frank became ill and died of leukemia on May 19, 1962. Betty moved her children to Abilene to be close to relatives. became members of Southwest Park Baptist Church and Betty remained faithful there for 54 years. Betty's work career included Cooper High School cafeteria, the Abilene Reporter News, and for J.O. Blair at the Boot Barn. She loved her dog, Gabe and gardening outside. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, E.B. and Bessie Polk Hudspeth; her husband, Frank Foster; her son, Philip Leonard Foster; and her brother, E.B. Hudspeth, Jr. She is survived by one sister, Katie L. Lowe; two daughters, Kay Frost-Bill Schumacher, and Susan Hunt and husband, Mark of Abilene. Her beloved grandchildren, Brian Stephens and wife, Amy of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, Stephanie Phelps and husband, Eric of Tuscola, Nikki Frost of Abilene, and Kristie Churchill and husband, Clay of Childress. Betty had six great-grandchildren she adored. are Maggie and Benton Stephens, Harrison and Haylee Phelps and Creek and Chloe Churchill. Obituary: Just as an airplane soars into the sunset, so completes the long farewell of Bedford F. Foster, Jr. who passed away on 6, 2017. His wife, Beverly, and grandchildren were with him, celebrating his life with prayers, music, laughter, and tears. Bedford was born in Melbourne, Florida, on 16, 1928, to Bedford Sr. and Muriel Ashley Foster. He earned a B.S. in Engineering from SUNY, University at Buffalo, and participated in a Senior Executive Management program at MIT. Bedford was a licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio and Texas. A lifelong engineer, Bedford enjoyed a distinguished career in the steel industry. Bedford was President of Regal Tube in Chicago, IL and President of Ohio Steel Tube in Shelby, OH. He served on the Board of Directors of Copperweld Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA. Highly-regarded by colleagues throughout the steel industry, Bedfords career gave him the opportunity to travel the world and to live in various states. Bedford and his family relished living in the small town of Shelby, OH. Bedford finished his career as a Vice President with Lone Star Steel. Lone Star brought Beverly and him to Dallas, where they resided for nearly 38 years. In Dallas, they met lifelong friends and thoroughly embraced the Texas lifestyle. Bedford was a consummate family man, who adored Beverly, his wife of 67 years. He took pride in his children and grandchildren, and was passionate about their accomplishments. Bedford was also a man of many talents. He was a painter who also enjoyed history, good music, and sports. A licensed private pilot, Bedford spent many hours flying his Piper Cherokee. He will be remembered for his wit, warmth, and the example that he set as a man of integrity, dignity, and compassion. Bedford was a veteran of the Signal Corps in U.S. Army where he earned an Expert Medal for marksmanship. He also served in the National Guard. Bedford is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; his three children Kevin, Kimberly Miller (Gary), Greg (Loretta); and grandchildren Marisa, Ian (Emily), Erin and Veronica. Bedford is also survived by his brother, Wm. David Foster (Sandra), and sister, Suzi Foster Beavers. Sadly, his brother, James Benny Foster (Annie) passed away in Manila, The Philippines, on the same day - 6, 2017. A memorial service will be held for Bedford at The Spring Valley United Methodist Church, 7700 Spring Valley Road, Dallas 75244, on 16, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. Barbara was born in Perkinston, Mississippi to William (Bud) and Erma Garner on May 20, 1936. She graduated from Gulfport High School in 1954 and worked for Southern Bell Telephone until she married Franklin Foster in 1969. moving to Texas in 1972, Barbara’s love for children was apparent as she spent the rest of her life volunteering or working with them in some capacity. Her friendly demeanor, unconditional love and commitment to her family and friends were just a few of the characteristics that made this beautiful woman so special. Barbara is preceded in death by her brother, William (Dub) Garner and her granddaughter, Miranda Dugger as well as her parents. Obituary: BARBARA ANN DOUGLASS FOSTER Barbara Ann Douglass Foster, 84, a resident of Odessa for over 56 years, passed away , 2, 2015 at Medical Hospital. She was born 24, 1930 in Fort Worth, TX, the oldest child of Dale A. and Edith Douglass. Barbara graduated from Big Spring High School, and then graduated from McMurray in Abilene, Texas. She was quite active in the theater at McMurray and actually stared in the movie production of Medea soon after her graduation. She met and fell in love with Zaro Foster from Harmony, North Carolina, who was stationed at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring, Texas. were married in Big Spring on 26th, 1953 and moved to Odessa over 56 years ago. Barbara loved teaching students and initially taught at Plainview High School. While dating Zaro, and after their marriage when he attended Air Force Officer Candidate School, she continued to teach school in Andrews. she and Zaro moved to Odessa, Barbara taught at Crocket Junior High School and then Hood Junior High School. She spent the last 25 years of her career teaching Speech and English at Permian High School. Barbara was initiated into Delta Kappa Gamma (a teacher society of outstanding women educators) in 1965. She served as President of the Theta Mu Chapter, and was an active member and officer for 49 years, receiving the Chapter Achievement Award in 2009. Barbara loved God, her church, family, people, theater, pets, travel, books and the world around her. She easily made friends and had many of them. She was a long time member of Highland United Methodist Church. Due to declining health, she had lived at Parks Methodist for the last three years. Barbara is survived by her husband of over 61 years, Zaro Foster; her son, Craig Foster of Thousand Oaks, California; daughter, Dale Ann Arnold of Odessa; eight grandchildren, Katie, Emily, Jessica, and Rachel Foster of Thousand Oaks, California, Alan Harper of Houston, Bryce Harper of Odessa, Aubrey and Abby Arnold of Odessa; and her only sibling, Judy Douglass Conner of Austin. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm , 24, 2015 at Highland United Methodist Church with Rev. David Weyant and Rev. Dustin Burrow officiating. She participated in many mission trips, taught many children about God's love and mentored many believers. She enjoyed Precept Bible Studies and was a faithful witness to Christ. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She was happiest when surrounded by her family. She loved to cook for her family and friends and spend hours sharing their company. The final night of her life in this age was spent surrounded by the sounds of her beloved family. Her final morning included Bible reading and prayer. By her own testimony, she was ready to see Jesus. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Dolph and Betty Gornowicz.
