Obituary: Dr. Joseph Charles Fontana, 92, of Bryan Station passed away , 12, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional care in Bryan, Texas. Joe was born 26, 1922 in Port Arthur, Texas to Antonio and Josephine Fontana. He enjoyed reading, listening to music, and watching Texas A&M football. Joe loved to travel around the world and loved the beach. He served in the Armed Forces in WWII and graduated from Texas A & M University with a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering. While attending college Joe was a music promoter for various groups. He was a Professor at Texas A & M University and was very well liked by his students because of his unique teaching style. Joe was a Southwest Conference Referee and had several local businesses in Bryan Station. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice Fontana; and a brother, Basil Fontana. He is survived by a sister, Lena Doyle; nephew, Greg Fontana and his wife Tara; niece, Carolyn Menn; great-nephews, Bryan Menn, Troy Menn, and Zachary Menn. A gathering of family and friends will be held , 15, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle , Port Arthur, Texas. services will be held at 11:00 a.m. , 16, 2014 at Grammier-Oberle , with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves, Texas. |

Obituary: Charles Arthur Fontaine, 72, passed away , 26 at his home in Bryan. service will be held at 2:30 p.m. , 2 at Memorial Chapel in Bryan. Interment will follow at Bryan City . Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Charles was born in Youngstown, Ohio on 5, 1943. He was the fourth of five children to Herman and Elaine Fontaine. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force. Charles was a quiet man. He often said, God gave you two ears and one mouth, you should listen twice as much as you talk. He believed in God, family hard work and being responsible for your actions. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda Fontaine; daughter, Dawn Renee Fontaine; and a brother, Boyd Fontaine. He is survived by his daughters, Julia Johnson and Lisa L.
