Obituary: FISCHER Ellen Joyce Fischer went to heaven on , 5. She joins her loving husband, Joe and many other members of her family. She fought the good fight, kept her faith and finished the race with grace and love at the age of 87. She grew up in Rockdale, Texas. She was an accomplished violinist and pianist who enjoyed playing for her church when she was growing up. Over time, she lived and worked in other cities, but Rockdale was always her home town. Joyce worked in Civilian Personnel for the US Air Force at Kelly, Randolph and Electronic Security Command. Upon retirement, she received the Distinguished Service Award from the Air Force. She enjoyed square dancing, fishing, traveling, playing SkipBo and music. She was a member of Woodlawn Christian Church for over 50 years. Her loving family includes daughter, Marsha; daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Bill Clifton; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Mary Fischer; granddaughter and husband, Gretchen and Andy Cook; and great grandson, Alexander Joseph. She lovingly welcomed into her family Linda Gorrell, Wanda Pena, Debbie Asher, Laurie McCarty and many other close friends. God sent Mom a special angel, Gustavo. He made her laugh, smile and enjoy every day. She loved him and looked forward to seeing him each morning. His sweet Good Morning always started her day off right. With great admiration and love, we thank you, Gustavo. You always made her smile and feel loved. Moms loved her other special angels, too. Ignacio Corral who lovingly tucked Mom in each night with a kiss, Stella Santos who helped us with care and advice, and Maria Diaz whose special love and care were such amazing gifts to Mom. Special thanks to Dr. Raul Montemayor, Dr. Allison Garner, and all the others who helped Mom live a great life. Her honorary pallbearers are Andy Cook, Shavawn Brozovic, Christopher Gorrell, Steven Gorrell, Gary Gorrell, and Brenda McCarty. Obituary: Elizabeth Emenhiser Fischer, long time Dallas resident and wife of the late James Lee Fischer, died May 31, 2011 at Texas Presbyterian after a brief illness. Elizabeth was born in Hollister, Oklahoma to Roy W. and Blanche Wolfe Emenhiser. She graduated from Frederick High School, attended Oklahoma for women, now USAO in Chickasha, Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Art Education. She also was a student at the Chicago Art Institute. She taught kindergarten in Tulsa, OK where she met, Jim Fischer, her husband of fifty years who preceded her death in 2004. She also taught kindergarten in Boston, MA while Jim completed his Masters in Chemical Engineering at MIT. Elizabeth and Jim moved to Dallas in 1955 where Jim worked for Texas Instruments for almost 30 years. Elizabeth and Jim were members of Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Elizabeth was a member of PEO for over 40 years. She also was a member of Helen Poe, LiSi, and Preston Hill book clubs, and the Northwood Hills and Richardson Womens Clubs. She was a devoted and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Fischer Morse and husband, Edward (Ned) Morse of Atlanta, Georgia, and her son, Richard Lee Fischer, and wife, Ryffel Fischer of Pasadena, CA. She was a proud grandmother of six grandchildren, David Morse, James Morse, William Morse, Mary Elizabeth Morse, Rebecca Fischer and James Fischer. Elizabeth is also survived by a much beloved extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. Her family would like to thank Zoila Vilatuna, Dolores Gonzales, Luisa Dean and Barbara Pulver for their kindness and loving care they gave our Mother. You will always be special to us. |

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Fischer of Plano; children, Doug A. Fischer and wife Angie of Mesquite, Sandi Campbell of Plano and Eric Fischer and wife Alison of Coppell; grandchildren, Ashley Day of Prosper, Logan Fischer of Mesquite, Braden Fischer of Coppell; brother, Ron Fischer; and other loving family and friends. Don graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He graduated from Texas A&M University, Class of 1972. Don was a former member of the Fightin Texas Aggie Band and President of the San Antonio A&M Club and the Area Rep for the Association of Former Students. Don faithfully served his country for 25 years in the U. S. Navy Reserve and was a sales representative for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for 32 years and was respected by the medical community. Don loved The Lord, family and friends, was loved by all, and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin D.
