Obituary: Aurora Copp Fierros, 96, passed away on 10, 2006. She was a most dynamic and energetic mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her warmth and high spirit enlivened her God given musical talent. If you could hum it, she could play it on her piano. All of her life she sang and played the piano to bring joy to others, yet she could not read a note of music, she played by ear. She was so talented that in her younger days she sang in the chorus of the San Antonio Grand Opera. She also taught special education students starting in 1955 in the San Antonio school district using her musical talents to enrich their lives until she retired. She was born in Monterrey, Mexico and came to Texas as a child, but her deeply spiritual roots emanated from the wonderful Incarnate Word Sisters that taught her at the Espada Mission. Aurora received a Bachelors degree from Our Lady of the Lake and a Masters degree in Education from Incarnate Word . She was a very enthusiastic warrior for Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Nelson Gage Copp in 1962. She later married the gifted violinist Gilbert Fierros in 1985 who has gone to the Lord. She will be terribly missed by her surviving children: Marie Forbes of Houston; grandchildren, Robert Forbes, Lisa Scott, Susan Forbes: daughter Jo Ann Aniol and husband Larry of New Braunfels; grandchildren Julie and Tim Turner, great-grandson Zachary, Karen and Tom Ballenger, great-grandson Jacob: daughter Maggie Brehm and grandchildren; David, Lynette, and Marlene: son Tony Copp and wife Kay, grandchildren; Tara, Alex, Troy Manson and wife Megan and great-grandson Wyatt, Jackie and husband Cole Gahagan, and Corey Manson: son Paul, grandchildren; Lynn and Paul Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower, 906 Kentucky, San Antonio, TX 78201.

Obituary: Today we mourn the loss of Rocío Fierro, 20. Born 22, 1995 in Chihuahua, Mexico. She was double majoring in International Business and Business Management with a minor in Engineering. She was my twin sister; my other half. She was always breaking the limits, testing to see how far she could go. She was incredibly talented. She played the trumpet beautifully and loved capturing a moment on paper. She was daring and adventurous and believed she could make a difference in this world. She was the overachiever of the class, the girl with straight A's and president of almost every club throughout high school. Not to mention she was in th marching band, president of the National Technical Honor Society, captain of the wrestling team, EPCC Student Government President and more. She won the Ranger award, an award that is only given to 10 students each graduating class. She had so much hope of being a role model for others and wanted to inspire them to be strong, caring, confident leaders, just like she was. My sister had a heart of a dreamer and the mind of a leader. She taught me how to dream big, and to stand up for what I believed in. She believed in equality and that everyone should have the right to love whoever they wanted. She loved her girlfriend the way all hope to someday be loved. Her favorite quote was "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." She will be forever remembered in the hearts of many as joyful, kind, honest, full of life and most importantly for making a difference in the world.
