Obituary: Helen Louise Martin Floersh age 89 passed away on 30, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank Floersh; son Dr. John Floersh; brother, James Martin and sister Sarah Lane. She is survived by her children, Angela (Jerry) Mayo, Monica Floersh, Frank (Rita) Floersh II, Ann (Patrick) Quarterman, Laura Moore, Julia Pierce and Helen (Clay) Bare; daughter-in-law, Tammie Floersh; sister, Betty Fogg; 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Obituary: MICHAEL WAYNE FLIPPIN, 62, passed away May 9, 2011. Mike started his career in 1971 with S&W Construction and was promoted to Vice President in 1979 until the company closed in 1983. He then worked for Alison Construction Co. in finance from 1984-1987. Mike was the Vice President of Finance and CFO of Lurgi, Inc., where he was employed from 1987 to present. Mike was a loving father, husband, brother, son and friend. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Monroe Flippin; daughter, Kim Armstrong (Brent) of Marysville, OH and son, Shaun Flippin (Meredith) of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by his mother, Nell Drewery Flippin of Memphis; brother, Alan Flippin of Faulkner, MS; and grandchildren, Emma, Molly, Sam, Miles, Maddie, Annie and Fleet. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Erby Fleetwood Flippin. Mike loved his family more than anything in the world and spent his life everyday showing just how much. Other than family his favorite pastime was his yard. It was where he was most relaxed manicuring his lawn and growing his daylillies. Mike graduated from Central High School and Memphis State University. He loved his Tiger basketball, Nascar and the New York Yankees. The family would like to thank the many friends who showed us so much love and encouragement during Mikes battle with cancer. Visitation will be held at Memphis , Poplar Chapel, , May 12, 5:30-7:30 p.m. and the funeral will be , May 13 at 11 a.m. at Kirby Woods Baptist Church, 6325 Poplar Ave. Memorials may be sent to the West Clinic, 100 N. Obituary: William "Bill" Hampton Flippen, Jr. was called home unexpectedly on 6th, 2015, to live eternally with his Lord and Savior. Although our hearts are heavy and our loss is tremendous, we celebrate his homecoming. Bill was born on 27, 1949 in Alabama, but spent the majority of his life in Tennessee. A graduate of Brainerd High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Bill had two successful careers, he was the District Manager of Toyota Lexus Motor Credit in Nashville, Tennessee for over 20 years. A long time member of the Local 43 Plumbers and Steamfitter Union, he was employed with several power facilities, retiring as a craft supervisor at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant in 2015. Proceeded in death by his parents, William Hampton Flippen, Sr. and Edith Cummins Flippen. A humble man with a kind heart, Bill was loved and respected by all those that knew him. He will be greatly missed by his former wife and best friend, Vickie Barksdale Flippen, son, Peyton Barksdale Flippen and his greatest joy, his grandson, Jaydyn Alexander Flippen. He was loved and admired by his brother, Pat (Tonja) Flippen and adored by his two nephews, Patrick and Taylor Flippen and sister, Flippen Campbell. His extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Bill maintained many lifelong friendships especially with his friend, "big boy" Carson McCord. A celebration of life and visitation will be held 1-2:30 with graveside services immediately following at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with James W. McCord officiating. under the direction of Chattanooga , Crematory & Florist-North Chapel, Hixson, TN. |
