Obituary: Flanigan, Cecelia - went home to be with her Lord and Savior on 1, 2010. She was a member of Marble Dale Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and Paul Lewis; brothers: Edward King, Clyde King Jr. and Jack Starkey; and sister, Lorriane DeLapp. Survivors include husband of 36 years, Clyde Flanigan; sons: James and wife Alesa, Eric and wife Holly; grandchildren: Chris, Zack, Beth and Jadealynn; and great grandchild, Evelyn. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on , 3rd at McCarty-Evergreen . A funeral service will follow at 8pm with Pastor Charlie Lynch and Danny Neal officiating. Obituary: Ella J. Flanary, age 92 of Kingsport, went to her Heavenly on , 3, 2014. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Weber City and employed at Tennessee Eastman and Kingsport Press. Ella was a member of the American Legion of Kingsport, a lifetime member of Rebekah Lodge #17 of Kingsport and Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She taught water aerobics at various locations. Ella enjoyed making dulcimers and baskets. She also enjoyed quilting, cooking and baking. Ella was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Claude W. Flanary; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Claudette Obenschain and her husband Richard of Staunton, VA; son, David Flanary and his wife Theresa of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren, Scott Obenschain and his wife Anita of New Orleans, LA, Sarah Lockhart and her husband Chris of Staunton, VA and Rebecca Flanary of Kingsport, TN; three great-grandchildren, Iris Lockhart, Rexton Obenschain and Fletcher Lockhart; sister, Betty Grace and her husband Sherman; brother, William E. Jones and his wife Edna; sister-in-law, Jackie Jones; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill on , 6, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM or anytime at the home of her son, David. At the request of the family, the graveside service will be private. Pallbearers will include family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to First Baptist Church of Weber City Building Fund, 155 Shady Elm Lane, Weber City, VA 24290. Obituary: a brief battle with cancer Charles "Leon" Flanary, 73, of Kingsport passed away peacefully on , 26, 2015 at Brookhaven Manor with his wife and son by his side. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Patti (Hughes) Flanary; his son, Krey and wife Misty Flanary; daughter in law, Diane Flanary; sister, Susan Flanary; and five grandchildren, Kai, Kaden, Gavin, Savanah, and Marshall. Mr. Flanary was preceded in death by his parents; Ross and Alverdia Flanary; sister, Pricilla Johnson and his oldest son Kevin Flanary. A lifelong resident of Kingsport, Leon was a graduate of Ketron High School in 1960. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. Upon completion of his military service, Leon worked as a buyer for Greene Supply and Mitchel Powers Hardware prior to retiring in 2000. Mr. Flanary was an avid and skilled woodworker and furniture maker who spent countless hours carefully crafting everything from grandfather clocks to dining room tables. He was well known in the family as the one to call when anything went wrong in the house or with a vehicle, to which he would always eagerly respond. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, working on his latest project, and spending time with his grandchildren. The family will receive friends , 29, 2015 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at East Lawn . Services for Mr. Charles Leon Flanary will be held , 29, 2015 at 12:00pm in the chapel of East Lawn with Reverend Bill Wood officiating. A graveside service will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd Kingsport, TN 37664. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Shanna, JoJo, Dr. Berndt, and the entire staff of Brookhaven Manor for the loving care and compassion for Leon. East Lawn and Memorial Park has the honor to be serving the Flanary family. |
