Obituary: Ann Fritzsche Felando 12.11.34/01.23.15 Funny, intelligent, sassy, generous, adventurous, and loving, Ann passed away peacefully 23, 2015 surrounded by family. Born 11, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, she moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of one, with her parents Margaret and William Fritzsche and siblings Bill, Hank and Clare. During her childhood and high school years, Ann was an accomplished equestrian who showed all over Southern California, including Del Mar. While attending Marymount , she met the love of her life, Felando. were married in Pasadena, California May 10, 1958. Ann loved to travel, after their honeymoon to South America, Augie offered Ann a new car or a trip, so in 1960, they travelled around the world. Not only did she travel out of the country, but she loved to drive, weekly round-trips to Los Angeles with her five children were the norm, as well as driving to Northern California to have lunch with her youngest son and family. The oranges she used for her husband's juice in the morning were thanks to her weekly drives to an orchard in Escondido. In of 1960, Ann and moved to Point Loma where she raised her five children, Augie, Juliann, Martin, Suzanne and Stephen. A fixture at the Point Loma Little League Snack Shack, Ann loved baseball, whether she was watching her sons play, or her much-loved Padres. As original season ticket holders, you would also find Ann and Augie cheering on their San Diego Chargers every home game. s at the Kona Kai Club were "Mom's Day-Off." Spa treatments and Bridge with the ladies were not to be disturbed except for emergencies. Ann was an avid tennis player and could be found on the Kona Kai courts even weeks after giving birth to her fifth child. Ann enjoyed her time raising funds for Children's Hospital with the "Mud Hens." As Co-Chair for "Tuna Day for Muscular Dystrophy" Ann headed up the first fundraiser at the Embarcadero in downtown San Diego. She was also a founding member of the lunch group, "The Pt. Loma Mafia." During the Christmas season, Ann was well known for her "Reindeer Candy Canes" which she lovingly made thousands of every year to hand out to friends and strangers. "FouFou" will be deeply missed by her six grandchildren, Liz, Stephen, Tess, Christian, Jonathan and Audrey. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, ; her children Augie, Juliann (Jack Ford), Martin, Suzanne (Jeff Mattson) and Stephen; her brother Hank Fritzsche (Pinkie) and sister Clare Newell. A Rosary and Mass will be held at St. Agnes Church on , 9, 2015 at 09:30 am. In lieu of flowers, Ann would like you to take a drive and treat a loved one to lunch. |

Obituary: Mr. Abebaw Merne Feki, affectionately called Muna, was born on 31, 1962 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He was the son of Mr. Merne Feki and Mrs. Abebech Atlaw. He completed his elementary and high school education in Ethiopia and then joined the Alemaya Agricultural . He graduated with Honors in Agricultural Economics and worked as Special Advisor and Agricultural Expert with the Ministry of Agricultural Development in Ethiopia before he emigrated to the United States in 1991. coming to the United States, he started working for HIMU, Inc. for seven years, where he held different positions, including Production Manager before the company outsourced its operation to Mexico. Muna was offered an opportunity to continue his managerial duties in Mexico, and he helped the company transition its operations, but he opted to remain in the United States with his family and tap into his entrepreneurial skills. He first purchased a 7-Eleven and grew his business to the admiration of many of his colleagues. He convinced his franchisor that the introduction of Ethiopian products will enhance the business and is the sole 7-Eleven to have attained this goal. Later on, he and his wife Zeni started enis restaurant to satisfy the need for authentic cultural food for the Ethiopian community and to popularize the cuisine among non-Ethiopians. The success of this restaurant in the Bay Area is legendary and it has gained status as the gold standard of Ethiopian restaurants and the go-to place for authentic Ethiopian cuisine. Mr. Abebaw Feki and his beloved wife Mrs. Zenebech Fikremariam have two beautiful and brilliant children-Zerihun Abebaw (Zeru) and Citiana Abebaw (Gete), nurtured by loving and devoted parents. Muna was diagnosed with intestinal complications and waged a courageous battle. Nonetheless, he went home to be with the Lord on 8, 2010 surrounded by his family and friends. Munas industrious spirit, fierce love and loyalty to his family, caring personality and sense of humor are legendary. His exemplary life as a devoted husband, a loving father and a pillar of the community are attributes that many admire and seek to emulate. He is known in the community as a friend to the broken, benevolent, compassionate, principled, highly moral and very loving. He was a man of God. He is survived by his wife Zeni, his two children Zeru and Gete, his brother Ayalew as well as countless family and friends who will dearly miss him. Services will be held on 12, 2010 at Mekane Rama Ethiopian Orthodox Cathedral 505 Coyote Road, San Jose, California 95111 at 10:00 am in the morning followed by the burial at Oak Hill 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, California 95125 at 12:00pm .
