Obituary: Howland- John C. Jack Foley went home to be with his Lord on , 18, 2015 at St. Josephs Hospital. Jack was born on 23, 1936 in Warren, Ohio to William and Sarah Foley. He was the beloved father of four children, David (Therese) Foley of Champion, John (Kelly) Foley of Santa Rosa, CA. Judy Karam of Howland and Kelly (Ken) Coatney of Denver, CO. Jack also leaves behind five grandchildren: Sarah (Jason) Mizak, David (Tiffany) Foley, Erin Coatney, Scott Reichert, Kendall Foley and a granddaughter βin-law, Andrea Foley. He also leaves seven great- grandchildren. Jack leaves three sisters: Mary (Dale) Bertuzzi, Catherine Manusakis and Joan Galloway. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Byers) Foley, his parents, a son, John Foley, Jr. and his sister Dorothy Hyden. Mr. Foley graduated from St. Marys High School and Youngstown State University. He was employed by the City of Warren as a Community Development Director. His started his career at Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority, and advanced on to Urban Renewal under HUD where many people visited his office on Pine Street. Later, he was the director of Community Development before retiring in 2000. He sat on many boards after retiring including SCOPE, Senior Service Advisory Council, and he consulted for years. Jack was a great friend and was well-respected in his community. He was a member of the Barber Shop Harmony Society for fifty years, The Stephen Foster Chorus for about fifty five years and the Vocal Alliance Quartet for ten years. He sang lead and tenor in many programs and could be heard in the churches, hospitals and at special events of his community, especially during Christmas, Valentines Day and St. Patricks Day. He loved to play golf, cards and could fix or build almost anything, especially at his cottage. Jack and his family enjoyed spending summers at their cottage on Lake St. Nora in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada. He had many Canadian friends on Comak Island where anybody was welcome on Blueberry Point for drinks and snacks. He was an avid fisherman who taught his children and grandchildren his love for the sport. He performed many surgeries with pliers on wounded fish and was always there to unstick any hook his grandchildren took to him. The family extends a very special thank you to the caring staff of Select Specialty Hospital and all the friends and family who visited Jack during his illness. Friends may call on , 22, 2015 from 3:30 to 7:00 pm at McFarland and Son . The funeral will be on , 23 at St. Marys Church, and the internment will take place at All Souls at a later date. Obituary: Grace Lucille Motsch Foley, 98, died on , 22, 2015 at Coshocton Springs in Coshocton, Ohio. Grace was born on 29, 1917 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Herbert and Carrie Motsch. She married William R. Bill Foley on 22, 1936 and moved to Columbus, Ohio. During World War II, Grace attended banking school and worked at Ohio National Bank. She and her husband adopted two children, William and Patricia. Grace served as a stay-at-home mom with her children while her husband won accolades for his work as a photographer at the Columbus Dispatch, most notably covering Jack Nicklaus and Woody Hayes. her husbands death in 1976, Grace went to work at the State Office Tower, until she retired in 1982. Grace enjoyed reading, sewing, and traveling to Rome and the Holy Land. Grace is survived by her daughter, Patricia (David) Wiley of Coshocton; six grandchildren: Joshua (Marsha), Daniel (Bethany), Andrew, (Bethel), Samuel (Kathryn), Anna (Douglas), and Rebecca; eleven great-grandchildren: Caleb, Ambrose, Titus, Nathan, Ethan, Sonja, Ingrid, Zoey, Simon, Malcolm, and Lauren; and Bill Stoutenger, who was like a son to her. Along with her husband and parents, Grace is preceded in death by her son, William, and her two brothers, and one sister. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on , 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Father Victor. Burial will follow at Resurrection in Columbus, Ohio at 1:00 p.m. on . The family will greet friends from 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on at Given-Dawson . In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 805 Main St., Coshocton, OH 43812. |
